Mr. Obama, Your Move [NY Times Urges Obama To Act Unilaterally On Amnesty!]

Mr. Obama, Your Move By THE EDITORIAL BOARDAUG. 9, 2014

Sometime in late summer, if predictions are right, President Obama will use his executive authority to protect many unauthorized immigrants from deportation.

We don’t know the details. Mr. Obama and the Department of Homeland Security have not yet supplied the who, what, when or even, officially, whether. But Mr. Obama has promised to respond to Congress’s refusal to act on immigration reform. And the most obvious thing is to lift the threat of deportation from immigrants who should be the lowest priority for removal: those with citizen children, jobs, clean records and strong community ties. Some reports put the size of that group at four million to five million.

The mere possibility of Mr. Obama’s protecting any of the 11 million immigrants living here outside the law is already making Republicans clutch at their chests and cry out: Oh, the legality! He has done nothing yet, but right-wingers have pre-emptively declared him Caesar, crossing a Rubicon into lawlessness.

In truth, Mr. Obama is well within his authority to madden the right. His power to conduct immigration policy is vast. Congress has given the president broad flexibility and discretion to enforce immigration law. It has also given him the resources to deport about 350,000 to 400,000 people a year, as Mr. Obama has done, relentlessly. It could have given him billions more to deport everyone, but it has not.

For Mr. Obama to use the tools at hand to focus on high-priority targets — felons, violent criminals, public-safety and national-security threats — and to let many others alone would be a rational and entirely lawful exercise of discretion. It is the kind of thing prosecutors, police and other law-enforcement and regulatory agencies do every day. …...

Do it. Laundrieu and Hagin’s seats instantly flip, and Michelle Nunn’s polls drop 8 points the next day.

We need to do a few unauthorized breakins to the Slimes headquarters and then demand amnesty.

We already have all kinds of immigration laws. What they want are not laws but amnesty. This is not what Americans want.

It would also seal the doom of that woman in KY with the unnaturally large mouth. one presidential directive, four women lose elections. That sounds somewhat “war on women-like”.

Note that the author employs the carefully chosen phrase “unauthorized immigrants” rather than the thornier - and far truer - phrase “illegal immigrants.”

New York Times propping up the floundering Liberal establishment. Again.

"The New York Times Editorial Board The editorial board is composed of 18 journalists with wide-ranging areas of expertise. Their primary responsibility is to write The Times’s editorials, which represent the voice of the board, its editor and the publisher. The board is part of The Times’s editorial department, which is operated separately from The Times’s newsroom, and includes the Letters to the Editor and Op-Ed sections."

Apparently these 18 supposedly educated people do not comprehend the concept of "illegal" when it comes to illegal aliens. So the NYT Editorial Board has now dubbed them "unauthorized immigrants", whatever that means.

“..This is not what Americans want.”

::::::::::::

Since when has Obama EVER done anything that real Americans wanted/want?? Never — not part of the anti-American agenda.

I haven't clicked the source to a NYT post for years, and have no intention of doing so.

From your excerpt, the NYT makes a slick, deceptive case for a dictator, Herr Obama. Recalcitrant congress? Hisself has authority to do as he pleases.

Obama has gathered despotic powers into the executive branch that no election can reverse.

Journalists almost never have “areas of expertise”. in fact, other than pushing words around, they usually have no experience at anything at all

What did Presidents Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower have in common?

This is something that should be of great interest for you to pass around. I didn’t know of this until it was pointed out to me.

Back during the great depression, Herbert Hoover ordered the deportation of ALL illegal aliens in order to make jobs available to American citizens that desperately needed work.
Harry Truman deported over two million illegal aliens after WWII to create jobs for
Returning veterans.

In 1954 Dwight Eisenhower deported 13 million Mexicans. The program was called Operation Wetback. It was done so WWII and Korean War veterans would have a better chance at jobs. It took two years, but they deported them!

Now, if they could deport the illegal aliens back then, they could surely do it today. If you have doubts about the veracity of this information, enter Operation Wetback into your favorite search engine and confirm it for yourself.

Why, you might ask, can’t they do this today? Actually the answer is quite simple. Hoover , Truman, and Eisenhower were men of honor, not untrustworthy politicians looking for votes!

Reminder: Don’t forget to pay your taxes - 12 to 20 million illegal aliens are depending on it.

His power to abet an invasion of illegals is vast?

I kinda doubt that.

So does that mean the millions waiting in line and paying thousands legally can now come in and not pay?
Why should they wait in line?

YES. I worked at the Times in a financial job about 17 years ago. What a bunch of miserable pompous elitists the editorial board was. No expertise in anything. Just a bunch of self-righteous know-nothings.
