Bloomberg: Colorado Gun Recall Towns So Rural, They Donít Have Roads
Colorado Observer. ^ | July 10, 2014 | Valerie Richardson

Posted on 07/12/2014 7:05:56 AM PDT by george76

In what may come as a surprise to residents of Colorado Springs and Pueblo, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn’t think those cities have roads.

Bloomberg told Rolling Stone that he was “sorry” about the recalls of two state senators last year over the Democratic state legislature’s gun-control laws, but added that their districts were so “rural” that, “I don’t think there’s roads.”

“In Colorado, we got a law passed. The NRA went after two or three state senators in a part of Colorado where I don’t think there’s roads,” said Bloomberg in the interview published online Wednesday.

“It’s as far rural as you can get,” said Bloomberg. “And, yes, they lost recall elections.

...

“Michael Bloomberg is absolutely out of touch with the values of Pueblo,” said state Sen. George Rivera (R-Pueblo). “In Pueblo, we value our Second Amendment rights and we don’t appreciate East Coast elites stereotyping us as some area so remote that we don’t even have roads.”

Rivera was elected to the state Senate in the Sept. 10 recall election that resulted in the ouster of state Sen. Angela Giron (D-Pueblo).

“Pueblo is a proud city composed of proud people from all different walks of life, and, while it might be hard for a New York billionaire to comprehend, we do in fact have roads and running water,” said Rivera in a statement. “I promise the people of Pueblo I will never sit idly by as outsiders insult our outstanding community.”

Bloomberg-funded groups lobbied for the three Colorado gun-control bills, which were passed by the state legislature with no Republican votes and signed into law in March 2013 by Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper.

State Sen. Bernie Herpin (R-Colorado Springs), who replaced Senate President John Morse in the recall, called Bloomberg’s remarks “shameful.”

Dumburg comes form a place that does not have roads. They have elongated parking lots where you set for hours trying to go somewhere. Things are so bad they dig under the streets and travel like moles in tunnels.

Notice the bigotry that arrogant wealthy big city liberals have toward mainstream Americans? Just “bitter clingers” outside the big city utopias full of enlightened Democrats.

On the contrary, Bloomberg's done more for the Second Amendment through his decidedly pro-gun organizations than any other single individual. Think about it:
  1. He singlehandedly mobilized the people of Colorado to recall 3 different state senators by throwing money at the state to pass restrictive legislation.
  2. He rallied the grassroots effort to recall those same state senators by sending money to keep them in office.
  3. He's been very helpfully publishing lists of candidates not to vote for because they support firearm restrictions.
  4. He's been informing citizens about upcoming Second Amendment issues via campaign contributions through his various AstroTurf organizations.
  5. He's essentially handed the entire state of Colorado back to the Republicans by publicly insulting the state four months before the election. (Now all the 'Pubs need to do is not screw it up...)

Ex-Mayor Bloomberg should get an award from the NRA for all he's done to help restore our Second Amendment rights! He can display it alongside a 30-round magazine from the "Toys for Totalitarians"!

Absolutely. We’re just subhuman vermin who need enlightened, civilized people like Bloomturd to tell us what to think and how to live our lives. We should be thankful he’s shared his wisdom on this matter with the lowly likes of us.

That’s how they all think we should view them, anyway. And they wonder why flyover country absolutely despises them.

People in NYC (and I include Mikey Bloomberg) think that by crossing the river into New Jersey they have to have a visa because it's a foreign country. As far as “flyover country” goes (lands between the Appalachian and Rocky mountains) Mayor Bloomberg still thinks the area looks like 1850: no roads, no electricity, no airports, steam locomotives, horses and buggies. To call Bloomberg an insular elitist would be too kind. Mikey Bloomberg has the IQ of a retarded pet rock.

To a New Yorker the west is a highly uncivilized place with barbaric customs. That's why they never dare visit to see how we live. Bloomberg would be unaccustomed to the dangers he might run into a big-gulp, a rifle rack on a truck, or see a whole bucket of lard.

Just ask Elizabeth Warren the west is chock full of wild Indians.
