A coalition of religious activists in Finland using MassResistance materials has blocked a “gay marriage” move in the Finnish Parliament, overcoming a well-funded and well-organized push by the homosexual lobby.
On June 25 the Finnish Parliament’s Legal Affairs Committee voted 10-6 to reject the "gay marriage" bill. The vote followed lobbying by coalition members and the distribution of MassResistance materials to all members of Parliament. In addition, the MassResistance video “What 'gay marriage' did to Massachusetts” was broadcast on national TV in May.
This represents a serious setback for efforts to bring “gay marriage” to Finland any time soon. The homosexual lobby will attempt to bring the bill before the full Parliament this fall, but without the Committee’s approval it is much more difficult. It also makes it easier for individual members to vote against it on principle.
One of the things that we think makes a difference is that these religious leaders are bold enough to tell the truth without fear. Many of the facts about “gay marriage” that MassResistance brings to the table are uncomfortable but must be told. When people – especially legislators – hear them, they "get it."
Contrast that to here in the US, where religious and pro-family leaders tend to come to legislators and judges with relatively inoffensive arguments (e.g., “every child needs a father and mother”) that are more driven by their fear of name-calling by the Left than any kind of coherent strategy. And the results we get usually reflect that weak approach. Hopefully, that’s something our people can learn from our friends across the ocean!

The defining factor appears to have been the video, which I am very surprised they managed to get on national TV! I very much encourage them to get it as much airplay as possible, and its not like this year there isn't enough new material for a second video covering the affects of this perversion nationwide.
This video, along with being aggressive with the unvarnished truth appears enough to really damage the homosexual agenda. Imagine what affect this could have in places like Romania and the Balkans.
For all the bloviating and carefully parsed messaging of our pathetic leaders here, look at what has worked from Finland to Russia to Africa. Taking the fight to them, exposing what their plans are to the public at large.
On a related note: Kyrgyzstan has put a Russian-style ban on sodomic propaganda through committee, and it is expected to pass by the end of the month.
It’s nice to know that there is still some sanity left on the planet.
I have always held the Finns in relatively high regard.
Are they taking immigrants from the USA?
I watched the whole video (20 minutes). I really feel for the parents and the people in Massachusetts who believe in traditional marriage. They have had their civil rights taken away and are treated like second class citizens.
I am very glad Mass Resistance has been successful in warning Finland. Praise be to God.

Practically every time it was voted on in this country, gay marriage was rejected also. The question is whether Finnish courts can overrule the will of the people and the votes of the Finnish parliament.
Unlikely. Courts there are not as powerful as ours. If this happens, it has to come through the parliament. For now, we’ve stopped them in their tracks. They’ll continue to fight though. The always do.
