These maps are really cool. Which HQ’s got them? Thanks for posting.

I believe the Marschbewegung map came from Rundstedt’s HQ at OB West. The markings on the Lage West maps were made by hand, so exact copies were probably not distributed among different HQs. I would imagine that the same basic information was shown on daily maps at Rommel’s Heeresgruppe B, Rundstedt’s OB West, and Hitler’s Rastenburg OKW HQ. Which HQ these maps came from I don’t know, but I’m guessing they are from OKW. The proof of that will come when I post the 20 July 1944 map; if it’s a little singed and burned with some holes and plaster dust on it, it’s from OKW.

I will try to post these daily as they are really cool. Too bad I can’t find the 1944 maps for Lage Ost. I wish I’d found these maps earlier.

Dewey is a shoe-in for the White House!

The state of FDR's health in '44 was guarded by the WH and the press and would have been a factor in the election.

In February 1945 my father worked on the USS Missouri in Boston to make it handicap friendly and was not told why until he saw FDR being carried aboard for the trip to Yalta. He said it was the biggest shock in his life when he saw how sick he really was.

It's interesting that Hitler refuses to look at the maps.

His denial of reality deepens as he realizes we can't be dislodged now in Normandy and as Russian troops get ever closer to the German border.

Well by now he knows this war is personal. He’s going to be tried as a war criminal, and believes if the Russians catch him he’s going to be displayed like an animal in a public cage on Red Square. I have visions of him saying “Laß deine schmutzigen Hände von mir, du verdammte reichende Affe!!!”

I don’t think he’s got too many options, personally. A real leader would spare his people. A narcissist; never.

Let that be a lesson for us today.

Churchill continues to be dumbfounded by the size of the American logistical tail. I wonder if he is still complaining that Americans eat too much meat?

Everyone is dumbfounded at the size of the American logistical tail. Remember the "cake" scene from "Battle of the Bulge. Even if not entirely true, it was pretty close. The Germans almost overran the map warehouse for First Army. There were something like one and a half million maps there.

I just Google translated that. LOL!

Hitler could have saved millions of lives, many of them German, and saved German cities from being turned into smoldering ruins if he would have taken his life now. And he knows the Russians are close to beginning to overrun camps, which will confirm the worst reports in the West. But, you are right, that's not how narcissists work.

Yes, we are governed by a raving narcissist who seizes power faster than the Supreme Court can take it back. If we take the Senate he will probably get much worse.

Well, part of the logistical size is dictated by the fact that everything for our fighting troops has to be transported over the ocean, so of course our "tail" is the biggest.

But part of it goes to the "cake scene." We provided our troops with all that stuff because we could. And yes, Prime Minister, we do eat more meat than you. Because we like it and because we can.
