ON LAKE MICHIGAN NEAR POVERTY ISLAND, Mich. In a remote part of northern Lake Michigan, divers have started looking at an underwater pit, hoping to find the resting place of the Griffin, a ship commanded by the 17th century French explorer La Salle.

These guys are pretty certain...but they were pretty certain a couple years back, too....and they're very close to that site.
I have a feeling that these guys have some (undiscovered) writings that are telling them to stay in that area....and that gut feeling.
We'll see.
I've always thought the Griffin sailed south to near the southern end of Michigan, the crew stole the furs and sunk the ship. Mutiny was so "in".

Admiralty law. Basically government ownership trumps private ownership.
