Chinese Farmers Brutally Expelled from Russia Showcases Anti-Chinese Hostility

It seems that Putin's visit to China at the end of May has brought the two countries closer. Russia will not only sell natural gas to China but provide certain military technology support. Meanwhile, China is going to invest in Russia Ironically, last autumn husbands of Chinese vegetable farmers were brutally expelled from southern Russia.

Scholars pointed out that a series of anti-Chinese incidents that took place in Russia have reflected the real relationship between China and Russia.

After Putin's visit to China, Russians seem very enthusiastic about China.

The media keep tracking whether or not China will invest in Russia, for instance, to build a railway in Moscow, re-construct the roads, ports in far-east area, or to build a car factory nearby Moscow.

Siluanov, Russian Finance Minister, also promised some favorable policies for China's investment in Russia.

Caster magazine,An influential Russian magazine disclosed that last year Russian federal securities and police drove more than 800 Chinese farmers out of their vegetable land in southern Russia within 24 hours. This same magazine published a special column on China to cater for Putin's visit to China a short while ago.

The name of the article is "Russia, A Strange Country: Why Can't We Work Hard as Chinese People; rather than Prohibit Them from Working Here?"

The report said that those farmers left all they had in Russia, including un-harvested vegetables, vegetable greenhouses, tools, as well as their tears.

The expelled Chinese said that Russia is a very bizarre country.

They had to bribe the police and local governments, but still have been expelled overnight. iminated and elbowed out in Russia.

In 2009, when the Cherkizovsky Supermarket was shut down, a lot of Chinese goods were confiscated. Quite a few families went bankrupt thereafter.

Nigeria Kou Riski, Russian human rights activist, has been observing Chinese affairs.

He told VOA (Voice of America) that the Chinese farmers being expelled is real and it reflects the real relationship between China and Russia.

Wu Fan, Chief Editor of Chinese magazine "China's Affairs", "6 years ago,Chinese fishing boats were sunk in Vladivostok, the party didn't say a word. 3 or 4 years ago, a supermarket worth billions of dollars was confiscated and burned in Moscow, the party didn't say a word. Now Chinese farmers are expelled, the party still doesn't say a word."

Wu Fan pointed out that the Chinese Communist Party's ideology was brought in from Russia. The party also grew and expanded with help from Russia.

Therefore, the party still holds a feeling of appreciation and has a relaxed attitude toward Russia. It rather lets Chinese people suffer losses than fall foul with Russia.

After the crisis in Ukraine, the United States, Canada and 28 EU countries have executed 3 rounds of punishment toward Russia. A lot of investors also withdrew their investments from Russia. All of these have driven Russia's economy into deteriorating even faster. Russian currency has depreciated unprecedentedly and stock market tanked.

United States President Obama stated in Brussels that if Moscow doesn't change its policy with Ukraine, another round of punishment from the 7 countries is coming in a month.

Xia Ming, Politics Professor from New York City University, "Russia and China are bound together with profit and interest. They rely on each other. Russia is utilizing China to strengthen its position to counter-balance western countries. Meanwhile, China aims to rely on Russia to achieve stabilization thus resisting pressure and influence from the western countries."

Xia Ming pointed out that both China and Russia transformed from "socialism" to "monopoly governance". These tycoons have gained strength via sacrificing the nation's interest.

Deep down inside, they hate democracy and worry about being punished when democracy comes.

Earlier, "Radio France International" (RFI) also reported that even though China and Russia have maintained a good diplomatic relationship, very few Russians support China's political system.

For a long time, Russians have been elbowing out Chinese more than anything else.

Wu Fan: "Russians have been carrying a burden. Both Siberia and the far-east area belonged to China. Since the lands were robbed away, they've been worrying that China will ask them back."

Wu Fan pointed out that China and Russia appear united outwardly but divided at heart. Those two temporarily make an alliance to resist against democracy.

A lot of Russians complain about the recent "Natural Gas Agreement" signed by China and Russia. They think China is plundering Russia. Even those who support Russia aren't happy about it either.

Russian-Chinese relations are not as good as Putin would have the world believe.

Another case of the media ( in this case ? the state controlled media in Russia ) deliberately telling the people that the left hand does not know what the right hand is doing, i.e. more of the same BS propaganda.

I've heard that because lots of Russian men are alcoholics that Russian women have been taking to marrying (or at least living with) Chinese men and farming together.

I guess the Russians finally had time to look at the border and got scared with the demographics.

If too many of its "citizens" in that area are Chinese then those Chinese could start making the same claims as the Mexicans in the Southwest US.

But so many folks here tell us that Russia is a free country with a great leader, unsullied by corruption.

China might as well take eastern Russia back. The Russians aren’t using it anyway.

“If too many of its “citizens” in that area are Chinese then those Chinese could start making the same claims as the Mexicans in the Southwest US. “

That is what’s happening there. The ethnic Russian population is imploding, while 2/3’s of Siberia is now Chinese...this does not bode well for Russia.
