Why the Tea Party shouldn’t take advice from anyone with a hyphenated name.

They should specify, legal immigrants are a good thing.

Illegals are killing us.

The Titanic is sinking and everybody's running around screaming about the stowaways on board.

The Tea Party and every right-thinking American needs to get focused on the BIG problem: the "silent" coup d'etat of our free constitutional republic by the unconstitutional $4 trillion federal government and the usurpation of the Constitution by the dangerous and traitorous power gathering dictatorship of Barak Obama.

Why is no one talking about this? Is it because no one ELSE is talking about it? Or is because the Left still subtly controls the "talking points" because they run most of the news broadcasts and newspapers?

Who on the Right is going to QUIT PLAYING POLITICAL RING AROUND THE ROSY and start talking about the ONE THING the Left doesn't want to hear talked about: the salvation of America by cutting government by 80% (=$800 billion, still too big but it's a start) and taking down the would be dictator in the White House.

BUT NOT UNTIL IT IS ENFORCED FROM THE PAST FORWARD !

Favoring legal immigration is fine, but we're way beyond THAT conversation until we deal with the ones here illegally.

Close the borders until it's fixed and people have been dealt with ... THEN ... at OUR pace ... we let you in.

We favor legal immigration. We are against illegal immigration and rewarding those who break our laws.

In 2013 the labor-force participation of foreign-born workers was higher than native-born workers (66.4% vs. 62.7%). Their unemployment rate was lower (6.9%, compared with 7.5% for native-born Americans).

Neither statistic is particularly surprising considering that they work cheaper and more often than not consume government subsidies to fill the wage gap which their employers doesn't pay.

If we imported third worlders from Bangladesh rather than Latin America, big business could pay them even less.

But the Tea Party should favor sensible immigration reform with border controls.

We always get one without the other.

Their case seems to be that destroying the rule of law creates economic growth. What is the empirical proof that that is the case?

We have had over 29 Million new legal immigrants since 1980. That is plenty. No other country in the world does/will do that. Throw in illegal aliens, and women into the workforce, and you see why wages are down and income for many.

Uh-oh, the word "sensible" popped up. That usually means the author is trying to avoid serious analysis.

If the author is determined to continue to blur the distinction between legal, controlled immigration and a wave of humanity surging over the southern border, then we really don't have enough common ground to continue the discussion.

I’m all for legal immigration. And, truth be told, if we eliminate all the government direct handouts to citizens in general, I’d be all for increasing the number of legal immigrants.

Frankly, the whole immigration, economy, entitlements rats ness of problems is like a tangled christmas tree light rats nest with ten billion lights.

That is, nobody is going to solve it. No human. It’s just gonna get uglier and uglier until it comes to total collapse and war. It’s not a matter of if. It’s amatter of when. And it is looking like we are very close.

Exactly! It’s these lawless invaders that everyone is against. These politicians never do anything to curtail it. The border is not secure and big mouthed BO has made it worse with his amnesty crap.
