His Worst Nightmare: Why Lindsey Graham will not win in November (Vanity)

Lindsey Graham "slicked" his way into a Primary win last night, but, his worst nightmare is going to happen in November; and true Conservatives don't have to vote for a Democrat for him to lose his seat.

There is a very wealthy, Reality TV Star, former State Office Holder (State Treasurer), with a very familiar political family name who promised to run as an Independent in November if Lindsey Graham won the Primary. This guy loathes Lindsey Graham and he is willing to spend, and do, whatever is necessary to see to it that Lindsey Graham will not return to the Senate in January 2015. He reaffirmed it yesterday. (Go to link below.) His name is Thomas Ravenel. He has a little baggage, but, in this day and age, that's nothing.

The true nightmare would be if a Democrat takes that seat, especially in view of the races in 2016 where Democrats could possibly get another filibuster proof Senate unless the Republicans do very well in 2014.

If I were in South Carolina, I would leave my ballot blank in November.

I live here. My ballot won’t be blank. It will be filled in with a vote that will do the most damage to Lindsey Graham’s election effort. The chips can fall where they may. If a Democrat wins, so be it. I’d rather have my enemies in front of me where I can see them. I don’t know if there are enough like me to tip the scale, but I sure have a lot of friends who feel the same way.

Leaving a blank ballot sends little or no message.

Voting for Thomas Ravenel sends a clear message.

Same. I’m done voting “scared”. “Oh you HAVE to vote GOPe because the Dims blah, blah, blah ...” No. Just no. No more.

I think I might do just that. I can’t imagine voting for Lindsey in good conscious, nor the Dem opponent and I cannot fathom voting for T-Rav or whatever he goes by these days. I may write in someone and “throw away my vote”.

Interesting information, but I never believe any election speculation unless it comes from Dick Morris.

I blanked my ballot for Scott Brown (there was no third option) and he’s now moved on to another state. And good riddance!

Thomas Ravenel is the goofy guy from Bravo TV’s reality show Southern Charm... he has poor judgment... he had a baby with a 21-year old—okay, fine... his biological clock was ticking... but even worse than that, he went on and on about how this gal was so wise... wise beyond her years... haha! that is all i need to know about this guy... too bad someone did not take Graham out in the primary...

That is the only way we will ever make progress.

If Jim DeMint came in on a third party or write in ticket, he would win. I wish he or someone with more stature had come in for the primary. Lindsey needed to go.

I'm all for staying home and letting Lindsey and McConnell lose. A Senate majority with McConnell is in many ways worse than one with Reid. Nothing gets fixed, but now the GOP is in charge and deservedly takes a big piece of the blame. If McConnell goes down due to conservatives abandoning him, it sends a message, and if we can get a majority anyway (a definite possibility, as the numbers could be in the 53-56 range) then it might just be someone who will fight a little, someone who will listen to conservatives instead of fight them as though they were the enemy and not Obama.

Good! About time more people realize that.

Already the GOP bootlickers are coming out of their stupor from last night screaming for lesser evil.

Fight them ceaselessly.

No, the way to make progress is to run somebody against Graham in the primary who actually has a chance to beat him or at-the-very-for-God’s-sake-least, force a runoff.

Unfortunately there isn’t because he would have lost last night. That was very disappointing......Cantor was small fish....I wanted Linda to lose last night...Badly!

“You think this Ravenal guy has a chance?”

I don’t know. I don’t live in SC. Graham’s republican support is not strong. Ten percent of the electorate give or take might make the difference in defeating Little Lindsey.
