And what happens when all of the local municipalities get these shiney new, big boy toys?
Well, they look for the smallest damn excuse to take them out to play!
Coming to an unwarrented home invasion near you!
(your neighbor didn’t like you throwing his dog’s poop back into his yard.....)
I see no reason for police departments to have armored combat vehicles. The excuses the mayor gave were lame because the cities can get non-armored military surplus vehicles just as easily as the MRAPs.
I believe you’re right, but I’ve been saying this for years.
The will give weak excuses that the vehicles could be used on snow plow duty and for fighting wildfires offroad. The truth is that the police and fire departments can get unarmored trucks just as easily.
I take it then that the MRAP uses air pressure to release the brakes like commercial vehicles.
A silver lining: The people in those small towns know exactly where those who would occupy said vehicles live. Get in one to unconstitutionally suppress the populace and you probably won’t live 48 hours after getting out again. (And while you’re out oppressing, who is watching your family?) This is why I still have hope that most local LE will walk off the job with their equipment if the wrong orders are ever given. At some point it just makes more sense to let a tyrant swing without you.
grenade launchers and machine guns for the local police?
What could go wrong with that?
Problem with crowd control?
Protesters?
Disrespectful citizens?
Barking dogs?
Problem no more. /s
Nobody will short you on the ketchup in the drive-thru lane AGAIN !
The government is literally freeing mass murdering terrorist while turning their attention towards Americans at home.
Speaking of MRAPs, there’s a false flag going down outside of L.A., CALIF as we speak. Will an MRAP barge in and save the day??? Drum roll please..
My Uncle, God Bless his soul, once said:
“You asked me where the DHS was storing all of the equipment they were acquiring for use against the citizens of the United States if a Civil War was to occur? Just look at the local Police department and the other local Federal agencies. They’re emplacing them one or two at a time in plain sight.”
The key he then added was this: “Now what I want to know is where all of that ammunition is being stored at.”
He was a good man... and I miss him.
martial law is not far off.
Once upon a time, civilians could open up their bank accounts and get the latest howitzer and grape-shot that money could buy. And for awhile, civilians were armed “better” than our military (Think the old west with the Winchester repeaters and Henry’s out there).
Yup, you got it.
Please post more details about what’s going on outside of Los Angeles.
Don’t you just love this little gem from the NY Slimes article.....
“In the Indianapolis suburbs, officers said they needed a mine-resistant vehicle to protest against a possible attack by veterans returning from war.”
“You have a lot of people who are coming out of the military that have the ability and knowledge to build I.E.D.’s and to defeat law enforcement techniques, Sgt. Dan Downing of the Morgan Co. Sheriff’s Dept. told the local Fox affiliate. Sergeant Downing did not return a message seeking comment.”
Of course he didn’t return the reporter’s message, the coward. What an insulting thing to say about our returning vets.
Yes, it is.
“We cannot continue to rely on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded.”
— Candidate B. Hussein Obama, 2008
That is as it should be.
I would not mind our military becoming much much smaller in peacetime except for the forces responsible for the technical stuff like jets, satellites, missiles and stuff.
I think the era of massive standing armies is crazy
