When Bob Bergdahl was formally introduced to America in the White House Rose Garden beside the President, he was startling to see and hear at first: the father had seemingly morphed into an Afghan tribesman, wearing a long beard and even speaking Pashto.
The transformation of the former UPS delivery man was five years in the making in the mountain valleys of Idaho, sparked when his son Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan in June 2009.
In the half decade that he and wife crusaded for their son's release -- finally won this past weekend -- Bob Bergdahl journeyed deep into the meaning of his son's captivity and war itself, according to media accounts.

I’m of the firm belief that the father’s actions over the past week have turned what was a “war hero” into a hated deserter who is now vilified by most of America. If he had kept his big mouth shut and was not determined to have his 15 minutes of fame, we’d probably still think the guy was a war hero. This father has helped wreck his son’s life.
I guess I should be grateful the creep spoke out, but liberal, narcissistic parents are a cancer on American society.
And so the leftist media spin begins. This turd and his father will be made into American folk lore heroes.
This traitor doesn’t need his dad to make him look bad. He did a damn fine job of that on his own. Men from this turd’s unit are speaking out. He deserted. He renounced his US citizenship. He sought out the Taliban and his unit leader suspects he helped the Taliban with ambushes and IED attacks. His muslim dad is just icing on the cake.
