Free money to UCLA via the government in the form of education entitlements, right? What a racket.

Federal and State civil rights investigators pore over businesses and schools searching for racially discriminatory conspiracies against African-Americans, but they have failed to find these conspiracies. Instead they have had to invent them and sue over disparate impact. But the vast majority of disparate impact claims are not the result of a calculated racial policy. Nor do investigators claim that they are.

However the disparate impact of covert affirmative action in colleges like UCLA is a calculated conspiracy and civil rights investigators won’t touch its blatant discriminatory impact on Asian students.

The usual leftist double standards - all to get preferred groups into schools that they're not equipped to benefit from.

All this BS should have ended before it started. One freaking vote in Bakke v. California Bd of Regents would have at least slowed this nonsense down considerably Even though we know the left would keep on conniving (unless it affected their own employment or admission of Lil Darlins)

There is absolutely no reason for Caucasians and Asians to vote for liberals. You’re only screwing yourselves

“The graduation rate at UCLA is at 92%. For black men it’s at 74%”

A law could easily fix that.

The only reason to vote for "progressives" is the sense of self-righteousness you get for screwing yourself.

"A Life Challenge Index increased admission chances for students who were single parents, poor or had gone to bad high schools."

Unbelievable. Being a single parent somehow qualifies you for an advantage in college admissions?

I just read that Jane Fonda is going to be the graduation speaker at UCLA this year. Maybe she will treat the graduates to a live performance of one of her exercise videos. I can’t imagine what else she has to offer.

it would be interesting to see the top ten majors that are chosen by affirmative action students.

My guesses:

Black/Ethnic Studies
Sociology
PE
Psychology
General Business

And what is not chosen:

Engineering
Sciences
Accounting and Finance
Computers/IT

Feel free to add/delete from the list

The way you fix this is to allow white people to register as African American under the belief that they just can’t prove they aren’t African American.

UCLA was already using personal stories of hardship as admissions criteria.

Reminds me of something, with a modern "overlay" causeth me lunch to rise to the occasion.

I guess that was too obscure.

The joke was that instead of being black, I could be "Queen for a Day," get admitted as an "oppressed minority," and then discover that I was actually straight. As a "Rocky and Bullwinkle" kind of kid, I loved that show; it was just jaw-dropping.
