SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- A plan to ask voters whether Illinois should impose an extra tax on millionaires has passed the Illinois Legislature.
The bill now goes to Gov. Pat Quinn. The Senate approved the measure 33-17 Thursday, despite Republican criticism it was "pure politics."

This is excellent for Illinois millionaires because it is a heads up to the rich to start packing their bags. When enough of the highest paying taxpayers flee the state it will leave the RATS saying WTF?
It should be called the “We want millionaires to move out of our state” bill instead.

It will NOT be pigs that do the flying. I think the glow from “certain” states is caused by the joyous smiles from people looking forward to an economic boom, fueled by the (evil) millionaires fleeing from the People’s Republic of Illinois.
Land and real estate values in states such as Texas have just gone up.

If you had 22 kids in a class the money per room would be $264,880. You could give the teacher $96,000 in salary and $30,000 in bennies and still have $138,000 per room.

In other news, there is a shortage of moving vans in Illinois for the next 2 years.
This is a boon for tax accountants and tax lawyers. The marginal millionaires running a small business will need them.
They should move out of the state as I did five years ago.
All rich and aspiring folks in Illinois should take this a notice that they are not appreciated, respected, loved or welcome. Don’t stick around and be a patsy for the ingrates. They think you are the enemy rather than their benefactor. Show them.
