Most of the lakes around Duluth were open on Saturday walleye opener. Some small chunks were floating around but that’s it. It was also warm which is unusual for a Mn fishing opener

Lake Superior still has quite a bit of ice

I hate global warming. It makes the weather so cold. /s

We just returned from 4 days near Lake City, Michigan. The lake was cold, but so beautiful.

I must say, we had a lovely little trip. Nice people, beautiful scenery, such warm hospitality.

The one thing that surprised me was the number of dead deer on the sides of the road. What happens to them? Do they get removed eventually, or are they cleaned up by scavengers? We were curious about this.

Plenty of broken ice still floating on Superior with all smaller lakes north still covered.

Ice on lakes in May = Global warming? Did that lake have ice on it in July in the 1990s?

Here in Denver, on the 12th of May, we’re shoveling A FOOT OF “GLOBAL WARMING” from our walks and driveways.

Maybe they’ll thaw just in time for the first freeze in the fall. North Texas should have near freezing temps tomorrow morning….unheard of cold temperatures for this late date…as the cold front that gave Denver snow on Mother’s Day arrives in Texas.

My cousin lives in Eagle River....it’s up there. Two weeks ago he posted a pic of him ice fishing. 30 inches thick.! It was in mid 50s though so he was wearing shorts so not to get over heated.

Just put a can of beer on the ice.....preferably Old Milwaukee. The Muskie will look up and see that yummy beer and crash through the ice to get it. You’ve seen those sharks down by South Africa jumping to catch seals? Well, you haven’t lived until you’ve seen a 40 foot Muskie crash through the ice to grab some suds!

The Atlantic Ocean is still ice cold up here in the Northeast. We had our first 70 degree day yesterday but only because the wind was coming from inland. As soon as the wind comes back off the ocean, we will be immediately plunged back into the 40s.
