He then shot her multiple times. The important thing is that he was able to go home safe and sound. [/s]

Not good.
Been providing assistance to senile people for many years. Wouldnt want one to have a gun.
a 93 year old with a gun or behind the wheel of a car is as deadly as any criminal. Innocent, yes, but deadly.
a disturbance from a 93 year old with a gun sounds like a senile old woman unable to follow orders to drom the gun.
Too bad her kids didn’t see this coming.
Taking away the keys to the car, moving mom into one’s home, or a facility is part of it. A 93 year old with need of a gun for protection, sorry, is a 93 year old in need of a family to take care of her.
If the cops were totally wrong here, I’ll take it back.

You just can't take no chances with a 93 year old woman, they move like greased lightning, strike faster than a rattlesnake, so you can't just shoot em once. I bet the bugger unloaded his weapon on her screaming like a little girl. BRANDISH: to wave or flourish (something, especially a weapon) as a threat or in anger or excitement. I bet she was just holding it in her shaking hands and he pissed his pants. Barney Fife unloaded on a 93 year old woman, what a man!

He's safe and his family is safe, not so for the elderly lady..

I wouldn’t have done that... My mom died at 94, but not of a gunshot. I would submit that even if she had evil in her heart, at 93 she couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn.
I hope he’s proud...

"So there I was... just li'l me against this hulking, nastyass old grandma... And lemme tell ya, ladies, I was scared -- no, no, I admit it! She had that feral glaucoma gleam in her eye, and was baring her dentures... but I braved it all, drew my weapon, and unloaded a heap o' lead right into her -- her one good hip gave out immediately!"

If I were the responding LEO and I determined that no one, including my self, was in danger because of the lady, I would have safely backed off, and called for an HRT. But I wasn’t there, and neither were you folks.

This is a sad story. You can always second guess the officer without having all the facts. Could he have isolated and contained the woman? You have to wonder, though, since the police were called she could have been a threat to someone else.
One thing I do know, a bullet fired by a 93 year old woman is the same as one fired by someone a third of her age.

Oh for pete’s sake - a 93 year old lady. He should have just cooled his jets for a little bit and she would have become tired and put her gun down so she could catch a nap.
