Not good.
Been providing assistance to senile people for many years. Wouldnt want one to have a gun.
a 93 year old with a gun or behind the wheel of a car is as deadly as any criminal. Innocent, yes, but deadly.
a disturbance from a 93 year old with a gun sounds like a senile old woman unable to follow orders to drom the gun.
Too bad her kids didn’t see this coming.
Taking away the keys to the car, moving mom into one’s home, or a facility is part of it. A 93 year old with need of a gun for protection, sorry, is a 93 year old in need of a family to take care of her.
If the cops were totally wrong here, I’ll take it back.
Exactly.Twenty years in medicine + having to go through it with our Dad suggests that as a likely explanation.
Taking away the keys to the car, moving mom into ones home, or a facility is part of it.
That's what we had to do with our Dad.He wound up living in my home for the last 6 years of his life as he slowly deteriorated mentally and physically
If the cops were totally wrong here, Ill take it back.
It seems possible that the cop was partially wrong, probably because of lack of experience and/or training with such a situation.I used to work for a neuropathologist and you can bet your bottom dollar that there'll be an autopsy and hopefully her brain will be closely examined by an experienced neuropathologist. Her medical and psychiatric history should be closely studied as well.My money's on at least one major red flag turning up indicating a medical explanation for her behavior.
And I've known many that can still drive safely and still shoot!!
Too bad you've not known any....
These days I’ll give the benefit of doubt to the woman instead of the cop. Local farmer and his wife, both in their 90s, sharp as tacks did more work before 9 am than most do all day.
Big leap there with no evidence.
