Well let's hope they're genuine, civilized patriots.
It's good to be cautious about news from them parts.

Ukrainians are taking the defense of the nation in their own hands through loosely organized militias . . . men armed with Kalashnikov rifles . . . taking up arms . . . This almost sounds familiar:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

("Shall not be infringed" is unambiguous.)

Militias will worry the Russians more than any regular Ukrainian army unit. They know the land, the people, they won’t fight by any rules, and they won’t be accountable to anyone. This is the best and worst thing that could happen.

Russia needs that chaos. If the Ukrainians bring any semblance of normality back, watch for Russia to push it back into chaos

Both the Nazis and the Communists slaughtered millions of humans, however, the commies killed more than anyone in history. Therefore, claims that either side is the bad guys in Ukraine is very suspect.
Note that the Nazis and other fascist regimes arose, in WWII, as seemingly the only counter to the commies taking over the nations of the world.

The MSM has largely said that Boko Haram are “insurgents” or “militants” not terrorists, at least that seems to be the two words used far more than other words like “terrorist” to desribe them.
In Iraq, the MSM called them “insurgents” the Bush administration called them “terrorists.”
But Obama says that an act of terrorism is “a man-caused disaster.” So, naturally the WH would say that terrorists are “men who cause disasters.”
Are Right Sector, Svoboda, Cossacks, Takfiri fighters and others in Ukraine “terrorists” or “fascists”?
Are the Ukrainians that are anti-Kiev “terrorists” or are they “insurgents” or “dissidents”?

Now we can see why Putin is standing down, he has no need to conquer Ukraine, Putins bet is that Ukraine will destroy itself and he can walk in and create order as requested by the survivors.
There is a very wild element at play in Odessa and elsewhere. Anarchists may do Putins work for him.
