Boehner Posts Easy Victory in Ohio GOP Primary
WSJ ^ | 5-6-2014 | Reid J. Epstein

House Speaker John Boehner (R., Ohio) coasted to a primary election victory Tuesday over tea party-aligned challenger J.D. Winteregg and two other opponents.

The Associated Press declared Mr. Boehner the primary victor with about 8,600 votes cast — about 6% of precincts reporting.

Mr. Winteregg, a high school teacher who raised less than $50,000, represented Mr. Boehner’s most robust primary challenge in years, prompting the speaker to air television ads for himself. Mr. Winteregg’s campaign was aided by $350,000 in third-party spending, but it was hardly enough to give the speaker a scare.

Democrats Tom Poetter and Matthew Guyette are competing for nomination to face Mr. Boehner in the November general election.

They said only 6% of precincts reporting. How in blazes can you call an election that early?

Well, that’s really too bad. If you vote for John Boehner you really do get the government you deserve.

So why do they declare it such an easy win without including any percentages in the article... not even unofficial totals?

Right...and we need to bring out the puke bags and pitchforks.

What total idiots!

Ohio is full of idiots who keep voting for RINO after RINO. The Governor, Lt, Governor, Secretary of State, Attorney General (remember that whiny, little twerp who used to be our Senator...Mike DeWine?), Treasurer...ALL RINOs.

Too many people vote with little thought other than ticking the familiar name. Hopefully, Bonehead will have a lot tougher go if he seeks reelection to speaker.

I have a feeling we won't see much change this primary season.

The entrenched interests are too well dug in and financed, and I guess people aren't hurting enough to take a good hard look at the two card monte scam the politicians of both parties are running on them.

I'm not quite sure how much more it will take to wake people up. Maybe they can't be.

Absolutely...but it’s tragic that we have to suffer the consequences of other people’s stupidity.

And people wonder why the Republican brand in America is such a turn-off.

Democrats who vote Democrat know exactly what they're voting for.

For Republicans who vote Republican, it's a total crap shoot.

“Ohio is full of idiots who keep voting for RINO”

FR has its own group of RINO supporters. If they’re here, its clear we are outnumbered by the Juan McShame’s of the world.

Bonehead 71% to his nearest opponent's 23% with 77% of precincts reporting. Results posted here on Ohio Secretary of State's website.

Yep, I’ve noticed that over the years, the amount of “moderate” posters has increased on this site.

What a shame.

Notice that they’re not reluctant RINOs. They are willing to compromise with the left BEFORE any negotiations even begin. Start out from a compromised position, and then compromise more when negotiation gets serious. Where does that end up?

Right here, where we are now.

Because it’s a blowout. Boehner got about 75% of the vote.
