Time to unite behind who ever wins.

Nope. The real and important objective is to get rid of the liberal bastards that are the republican leadership in the senate.

The same ones that attack conservatives.

They are the more dangerous enemy.

glad to see ya running, regardless of whatever comments ya get. Don’t let the turkeys get you down, which is a required slogan for any conservative putting his name on the ballot.

The left loves nothing more than for conservatives to give up

True, the republican leadership of the senate loves for conservatives to give up.

OK,
so the reason we should not vote for Tillis is that he
is too popular and might win the general election??

better would be to support Brannon because he is
from the Aikin/Murdock/Sure-Loser branch of the Party.

or not, please enlighten me

Hey there, Bullwinkle...err, Rocky. You pick the best in the primary and then vote the best in the general.

Consequently, I will assume you will vote for the Murdock-type candidate in the general election, should your McCain-type candidate not win the primary.

Does that help, Bullwinkle, I mean, Rocky?

Even when you posted this, it was nearly impossible for Tillis to get below 40%. Now, with 87% reporting and Tillis at 45%, he could get just 7% of the vote in the remaining precincts and still get over 40%.

Tillis will win with 44%-46%, which is far better than anyone thought a cew weeks ago.

I realize that my choice won't be especially popular on this forum, but I voted for Thom Tillis, and it was an easy decision for me.

Tillis, as Speaker of the NC House, led an absolute conservative revolution in legislation, including reduced taxes, slashing of entitlements, the passing of voter ID, and much more. He became public enemy #1 of those who found these reforms abhorrent -- Revs. Barber, Sharpton, and Jackson; the New York Times; the Charlotte Observer; the [Raleigh] News & Observer; the Moron Monday movement; and more. But, curiously, he didn't get enough credit from those who welcomed the reforms. Perhaps they think that legislation writes itself.

Dr. Brannon seems a bright and engaging fellow with good ideas, and seemed to model himself after Dr. and now Senator Paul of Kentucky. But unlike Sen. Paul, who led a taxpayer revolt of sorts in Kentucky before he ran for the Senate, Dr. Brannon has, as far as I know, done nothing in the political arena prior to jumping into the race. He talked a good game, but what has he done? We don't need, or even want, a lifelong politician, but surely some political activism or legislative experience before jumping into a race of this importance is a good thing.

And as far as Rev. Harris, who seems to think the Earth is 6,000 years old, is concerned, well, I'll follow my late mother's advice: if you can't say something nice, say nothing.

In any event, the Primary is over. With 90% of the vote in, Tillis is still over 45%; Brannon is next with just over 27%. Tillis ran particularly well in the strongly Republican areas of the Piedmont -- Randolph, Davidson, Cabarrus, Stanly, Moore, Iredell, Lincoln, Wilkes, etc., and almost as well in the larger counties like Mecklenburg, Wake, and Guilford. He also did surprisingly well on the coast, a long way from his base, taking comfortable pluralities in New Hanover, Carteret, Brunswick, and Dare.

The race against HaganObama (as she will be known by November) will receive national attention.

I'm not as familiar with this race as I should be even though not my state but why don't we want him then?

Because you can say the exact same thing about Linsey Graham.

We do. Just people, well meaning, who can’t see the forest for the trees. Just sad Taylor lost to Jones. That was the Palin candidate who ran against an awful Republican in a district that is solid.

Don’t we have an election this Saturday, in TX? For AG, Lt Gov, Comptroller, etc?

I feel like voting for ex-El Paso mayor over Jorge P Bush....or maybe the libertarian candidate...not that it will matter :(

“lets see gope win with losing all of gotv grunts and 45% of base”

GOPe is the majority in the GOP. You guys are a small minority. Ok, you guys managed to turn Romney from a 51% winner into a 47% loser. Fair enough.

But we are not going to let you 10 percenters run the party over the other 90%.

That is just not how it is going to work.

As far as I can tell by results, TEA Party got shellacked everywhere.

“TEA Party got shellacked everywhere”

I believe that is wrong. Inferior candidates got shellacked everywhere.

When Tea party runs a strong candidate like Ron Johnson of Wisconsin or Rand Paul in KY, they are very strong.

When Tea party runs no name, inexperienced boobs, they get shellacked.

4 Tea Party candidates in NC split the vote and let the RINO win. Their vote totals are more than the RINO. Happens every time.

Tillis is not very strong on the 2nd amendment. Tillis would not let vets that suffer from PTSD have a gun. Also never spent one second in the military. Just a little rich white boy, like his hero Mittens Romney. And a Florida carpetbagger, not a real Tar Heel.
