One thing to remember about last night’s races however, disappointing as some of them were, is that the Tea Party candidates were largely unknown and campaigned on a small fraction of the funding available to their GOP establishment counterparts. Also, the Tea Party candidates really didn’t have the benefit of receiving any high profile endorsements (other than Senate hopeful Greg Brannon’s endorsement from Rand Paul, which I think may have come a bit too late in the game).
I think the most important races to watch are the Tea Party candidates backed by the Senate Conservatives Fund (i.e. - Bevin, KY; Sasse, NE; Maness - LA; Wolf - KS; Shannon - OK; McDaniel - MS; Ernst - IA, etc.). These candidates are receiving a lot more national attention and therefore are bringing in some substantial outside campaign donations. And I don’t care what the media or the pundits say... I think Lindsey Graham could be in for a dog fight in his South Carolina primary race as he is currently polling just below the 50% vote threshold needed to avoid a runoff. I would LOVE to see SC cut the cord with this RINO turd and nominate a true conservative replacement!
