Final PPP poll shows Tillis down, Brannon & Harris up in GOP Senate primary (NC)

RALEIGH, NC (WECT) – Greg Brannon and Mark Harris showed improved numbers while Thom Tillis saw his support slip in the final Public Policy Polling survey of the North Carolina Republican Senate primary campaigns.

In a PPP poll done April 26-28, Tillis had support from 46 percent of the responders, with Brannon at 20 percent and Harris at 11 percent. In the final poll done over the May 3-4 weekend, Tillis had the support of 40 percent, with Brannon up to 28 percent and Harris at 15 percent. The 40 percent mark would keep Tillis at the level he needs to secure the nomination without having to go through a July runoff election.

According to a news release sent with the PPP data, Brannon and Harris saw increases as voters report having seen more from their campaigns. Both men had an 8-9 point increase in the percentage that have seen their TV ads.

The PPP survey also found that negative ads against Tillis seemed to have an impact on his favorability rating

Hard to believe the Kay Hagan ads could hurt Thom Thillis. The splicing of the tape sounded like a parody of an attack ad.

Tillis is a bad candidate for November. Hagan vs Hagan lite.

Tillis will fix immigration and fix Obamacare.

Hagan sees a path to victory through the RINO.

My first wish is that Tillis DOES NOT get 40% of the primary vote.

My 2nd wish is that Greg Brannon DOES get 40% of the vote.

My educated guess would be that my first wish will come true but that my 2nd wish will not come true.

Therefore my 3rd wish is that Greg Brannon buries Tillis in a landslide in the runoff.

“Hagan sees a path to victory through the RINO.”

You are kind of a dummy. Hagan is bashing Tillis because she wants to run against someone else besides Tillis.

from the article:

“But the warnings didn’t come from any of the seven opponents Tillis will face in Tuesday’s GOP primary, where he has been regularly attacked as not conservative enough. Instead, they were paid for by Sen. Kay Hagan, a Democrat who will face the eventual GOP nominee in November.”

I don’t agree with you…Hagan’s ads would only appeal to lo fo Dem voters and would not have much of an impact on Republican voters. I think her supporters assume she’ll face Tillis, period.

I can see that theory. But if Tillis wins with 41% she is on to a good strategy. There is going to be some angry voters who wanted to at least have the RINO earn it through a runoff.

I want a runoff with Brannon. Make Tillis earn it. I think people will be happier in the end if they have a runoff.

Yep. We already have enough little GOP-e muppets bowing down to the Chamber of Amnesty to "fix" Obamacare. We don't need anymore.

If it goes to a runoff, Tillis will lose to Brannon. And that will happen in spite of massive national GOPe support for Tillis.

There was a big rally with Rand Paul today. Let’s hope the GR is fired up enough to keep Tillis under 40%. After that, he’s toast.

Establishment lowlifes literally throwing everything including the kitchen sink into stopping Brannon. If he wins, McDaniel and others are in with a very real shot.

If Tillis wins, Rove will do a victory lap and more money from his chamber of crony capitalism buddies. We all know if Brannon wins, Karlo will knee-cap him on Fox.

He will. If there is a runoff, it’s lights out for Tillis and Rove.

Hagan would crush Tillis in the same way Kaine crushed Allen.

Hagan fears Tillis. She is rooting for Brannon. I hope this is not Sharon Angle or Christine O’Donnell redux or De ja vu.

Vote Brannon in today’s republican primary not the Rove candidate. If he ends up winning this thing make sure he doesn’t talk about the following subjects with off the cuff answers abortions in cases of rape, witches, Donald Sterling/ any issue about race, illegal immigration, etc. or any wild personal charges, not paying taxes, how he made his money.

They have to have a runoff first which Tillis could still win.

Sharron Angle beat Sue Lowden 40-30.
