Getting offended for the sake of getting offended. Do some people get off on feeling like their being oppressed? A weird twist on the S&M thing. I thought Cinco de Mayo was an excuse to get hammered on Tequilas and Coronas. Gotta hand it to student activists, they have all the answers, they trouble is, they don't understand the questions. To paraphrase Tom Petty, "Rebels without a clue..."

The Mexican family who runs a taco stand near my home will not be pleased.

Drinking tequila shots, eating tacos, and wearing sombreros do not commemorate Mexican culture; on the contrary, that offends, marginalizes, and isolates many of our friends, classmates, and community members, and casts our entire community in poor light.
Well, I know what I'm having for dinner tonight.

I'm fine with this. I never celebrate Cinco de Mayo.

Telling college students not to drink Coronas isn’t going get very far.

Is beating the French really something to celebrate? Who hasn’t beaten the French?

Uh, if they were back in their homeland instead of sneaking into ours and taking advantage of our generosity, they wouldn’t know what we were up to, right? Make it so, number one!

Yep, I’m gonna tell college students not to drink tequila because it’s ethnically offensive. That’ll work.

Obviously, it should be against the law for Mexicans in the U.S. to eat anything but tacos and other Mexican fare.
