Is beating the French really something to celebrate? Who hasn’t beaten the French?

So! To celebrate defeating the French, we should drink Russian beer (1812), British beer (1815), German beer (1815, 1870, 1940), and Mexican beer (1868).

Actually, it wasn't a good victory for the Mexicans. The baattle was against the French Foreign Legion, and involved thousands of Mexicans vs ~50 Legionnaires. The entire French force was killed, with a couple captured. The Mexicans lost over 300 men, and another 300ish wounded.

Well yeah they beat the French on May 5th but keep in mind that the French came back and beat them like a drum. And it wouldn't have happened at all if Juarez was able to pay back the loans Mexico had taken out or if France had been willing to renegotiate like Britain and Spain.
