(Reuters) - U.S. President Barack Obama said that islands at the center of a territorial dispute between Japan and China fall within the scope of the U.S.-Japan security treaty, the Yomiuri Shimbun daily said on Wednesday.
Obama, who arrives in Japan later on Wednesday on the first step of a four-nation Asian visit, made the remarks in written replies to questions.

Another Red Line?
America is making China stronger.
America needs to bring back American manufacturing.
We are making our own biggest competitor, stronger. Fast.
We mess around on the margins like this, but run a 440 Billion / 122 Billion trade deficit just last year. We run a trade deficit of this sort now, every single year.
We need to bring back jobs.
I’m sure the Japanese know that the Hussein and the ‘Rats can’t be trusted with this “red line” any more than the ones he drew in Syria and Crimea.
So, does “written replies to questions” mean that his handlers no loner trust Obama to actually ANSWER UNREHEARSED QUESTIONS in public on matters of international issues?
Or that the Japanese don’t trust him to answer THEIR international questions in public fro mun-rehearsed questions?
Well, there he goes again - writing checks that will never be cashable.
If you like your islands....
“Don’t call my bluff” spake Barack Hussein Obama.
Such a VERY, VERY small man.
The BLM will just steal them from japan and hand them over to china...
” four-nation Asian visit”
Just a quick stop before he heads down to his homeland Indonesia? Maybe he can go down and find MAL 370.
A 2-fer for China. This can’t end well.
Translation: China, you can take them because I, Brako Bamma will bend over for it.
RED is Obama's dominant color.
If you like your islands, you can keep them. :)
RE: I notice that the story does not actually quote what Barry happened to say
He WROTE it. So, that’s set in stone ( for want of a better word ).
Here’s what he did:
Obama reiterated the stance of the U.S. government in a written reply to questions made by Japans Yomiuri Shimbun newspaper at the beginning of an Asian visit that will bring him to three other countries aside from Japan.
The policy of the United States is clear, Obama said. The Senkaku Islands are administered by Japan and therefore shall fall under the U.S.-Japan treaty, he wrote. We oppose any unilateral attempts to undermine Japans administration of these islands, Obama added. This reiteration seems aimed at reassuring Japan that the U.S. would always come to its defense if China attempted to take the islands by force, as Beijing also claims the territories as the Diayou Islands. Russias recent actions and the annexation of Crimea has raised concerns about Americas capability and political desire to protect its allies, notably Japan and the Philippines, who both have ongoing tensions with China.
How many times has Barry allowed that to happen on his watch?
That, along with an increased presence in the S. Pacific, is a paradox.
China invaded Spratly islands of Vietnam real footage 1988
So if the islanders vote to join China, T1 will declare it illegal, and the US would then send troops to Taiwan? Mind if Israel remains neutral on this one, too?
Ruh ro. Rots of ruck Japan.
Japan is going to get DOUBLE +
screwed by O’bummer-
1. He is going to MAKE them give concessions on trade-
2. He will then say we back them militarily - LOL
(they will find out when the Chinese create a
“fishing village” on their islands)
++- the plus??- O’bummer is giving China special
knowledge of U.S. intentions- and of course..U.S.
Now Barry the Honorary Member of the Muslim Brotherhood has said the same to Japan.
I have to wonder if the Japanese are saying, “Why would he do that to us? What did we ever do to him? Why does he hate us? We might as well relocate our citizens from the islands because they are as good as lost with this fool in charge. “
