The events in Nevada this week have made a number of things crystal clear:
1) Our government, at least at the upper management/executive service level, is incredibly corrupt.
2) Senator Harry Reid (D-NV), Senate Majority Misleader, is incredibly corrupt.
3) Obamas Executive Branch, which allowed this situation to take place in the way that it did, is incredibly corrupt.
4) The judicial branch that has consistently allowed environmentalists to dictate public land policy is incredibly corrupt.
5) The environmentalists and their co-conspirators in Congress who foisted the so-called Endangered Species Act and numerous other extreme laws on us, and turned a blind eye to the above mentioned corruption, are incredibly corrupt.
6) The massive amount of public land controlled by the federal government in the West is anything but public.
7) If the United States of America is to survive as a single, sovereign nation, the states, and particularly the Western states, need to take back the land unconstitutionally ruled over by the federal government.
There is a movement among a handful of state legislators in the West to get the federal government to turn back the land they have taken over the years and managed with agencies like the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), the USDA-Forest Service, the Corps of Engineers, the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) (none of which appear to be authorized by the Constitution.) We need to aid and abet this movement as if our lives depend upon it. But, let me make clear here, that we are not talking about the middle and lower management and field personnel. The vast majority of these folks are hard-working Americans who give the taxpayers their moneys worth and more on a daily basis. Its the executive level, the Washington bureaucrats, their political...

Loving this.
The most complete data is from the Beaver Dam Mountains. Woodbury and Hardy reported a tortoise population density of 150 per square mile in 1948. BLM reduced cattle grazing a few years later and eliminated cattle in 1970. Coombs reported a tortoise density of 39 per square mile in 1974. In these 26 years cattle use was reduced 100 percent and tortoise numbers were reduced 74 percent.
These tortoises were doing so poorly a veterinarian, Dr. Jarchow, was consulted. He reported all six specimens were suffering from osteoporosis caused by a protein deficiency in their diet. Dr. Jarchow examined five specimens from the same mountains that shared their range with cattle. He reported these specimens were all healthy and well nourished.
The historical record proves conclusively that tortoise thrive when cattle are on the range with them and without cattle grazing they are always malnourished and unhealthy and their numbers plummet.

I support mr Bundy. He is the hero, the patrick Henry of our time fighting the evil federal government for his property rights and freedom.
where are our conservative leaders coming out in support of mr Bundy and the militias? I haven't heard Rush say much on this. Beck criticized the militias. Hannity and Drudge DID talk about it and for that I applaud them. Palin, Coulter , Levin ,Savage et al have any of them said anything ?

The tortoise and the cow respectfully request that you do not judge the alternative lifestyle.
It is TIME to DownSize DC!
Close Entire Rogue/Unconstitutional Departments, including their SWAT Teams.
It is TIME!
Oh, you mean the guys who planted lynx hairs, released diseased wolves, lied about salmon genetics, falsely listed a kangaroo rat... those folks?
Bull hockey. The entire system is corrupt from top to bottom.
More seriously...
The BLM is killing hundreds of desert tortoises.
Desert tortoise faces threat from its own refuge August 25, 2013Back at the conservation center, a large refrigerator labeled "carcass freezer" hummed in the desert sun as scientists examined the facility's 1,400 inhabitants to find those hearty enough to release into the wild. Officials expect to euthanize more than half the animals in the coming months in preparation for closure at the end of 2014.
More glaring proof that the FedMob is incapable of managing lands or wildlife.
Private ownership of land leads to both means and motive to increase the productiveness of the land.Government ownership leads to wasteful and inefficient use of land.In general, as a matter of principle, the environmental movement is bent on stopping further increases in, indeed, on reducing, the productivity of labor in agriculture, and mining, and thereby, whether it is aware of the fact or not, on driving down real wage rates, and standard of living of the average worker, and raising land rents.
The reason this cannot be done is that the federal entity has pledged this land as collateral to China in return for their purchase of our debt. This is how China has financed our profligacy.
As we issue more bonds and currency to pay for our military machine and national instant gratification, our dollars become worth less. China has been buying massive amounts of gold from us, and we've sold it to them to keep the price of gold down to make the dollar look good. But now China wants real assets for their ever-depreciating dollars, and they want more than just gold. This is why they're buying ports, farm land, mines and land for industrial development. That land has to be handed to them via the eminent domain process.
The American people will become angry as it sinks it that we've been sold into debt slavery by our own government to a potentially hostile foreign power. This is why the whole mess will end in violence with death on a grand scale. The government cannot afford to lose, lest the people "alter or abolish" this government. This is why it is arming for war against its own populace. They must set a precedent at Bunkerville that the federal entity always has the last word on the uses of violence.
8) The MSM is thoroughly corrupted and as a result they allow their brethren, like Harry Reid, et. al., to prosper under a system of corruption. The corrupt MSM puts their thumbs on the scales of our national elections on behalf of Democrats and they love anything an environmental wacko says.
Regrettably, most of the American system is now completely corrupt, and make no mistake, there will be a high price that we will all pay. We will soon be no better off than any two-bit third world country. It is fast coming.
Thanks, Jim.

This is a very important point. For it has occured to me that Barack Alinsky has re-read his Rules for Radicals and has used this "crisis" to divert attention away from the real crisis we were focused on last week. Namely the IRS scandal hearings and the illegalities of Holder, Lerner, Cummings, Obama et al.
And the Death Valley National Monument, set in place by Diane Feinstein in honor of Alan Cranston has blockaded millions of acres of Death Valley from past uses. They are ‘protecting’ the desert turtles.
A couple of months ago, they announced that they needed more funding or they would have to start EUTHANIZING the turtles because they couldn’t ‘take care’ of them anymore.
Seems to me the turtle took care of itself since the days of the dinosaurs.
Those same agency employees cut fences & damaged water stations on Wayne Hage’s ranch in Tonopah, Nevada also. He had photos of them doing so.
If government was better at land management, private property wouldn’t always have more wildlife and better hunting.
In every state in the nation, private property has better wildlife management.
