I read they had shut down the telephone towers in the area to block phone calls, and closed the air space to other than BLM planes. The roads were probably next on the agenda. Next time they play “Hail to the Chief” maybe they should call it “Heil to the Chief”.

It should be “Jail to the Chief”.I’ve been working on lyrics for that.

The cell towers were never shut down. That was a lie perpetrated by Alex Jones.

The air space was closed for a 3mi radius around the ranch, up to an altitude of 3000 feet. That was reliably reported on FR. It was for the express purpose of keeping the media in check; the only media presence was three TV affiliate vans located at the BLM compound, under their direct control.

When you have lots of unexpected people with cell phones in a remote area it can cause congestion. More likely overload than shutting down of cell towers and I am not sure how they would shut down cell towers.
