Former Massachusetts Senator Brown comes out swinging on Obamacare in New Hampshire

PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire (Reuters) - Former U.S. Senator Scott Brown of Massachusetts launched a Republican campaign on Thursday to represent neighboring New Hampshire in the Senate, with an attack on incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen's vote for Obamacare.

Brown, who moved to his native New Hampshire late last year to explore a run for office, has focused much of his energy on attacking the Affordable Care Act, an issue Republicans are making a centerpiece of 2014 campaigns.

"So many problems with our economy happened because of Obamacare. And Obamacare could not have happened without a rubber-stamp 'yes' vote from Senator Shaheen," Brown told a crowd of a couple hundred supporters in a hotel ballroom in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, near the state's southern coast.

"Obamacare forces us to make a choice, live free or log on - and here in New Hampshire, we choose freedom," Brown said.

The Affordable Care Act passed the U.S. Senate in 2010 by a margin of 60-39, with all Democrats, including Shaheen, voting in favor of President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.

well, apparently I’m a political genius because the last three republicans we had here in massachsetts, brown, torkilson and blute, I spoke to each one and said you were elected on the hope you’d be conservative, if you run for reelection as a pacifying moderate, you’ll lose. so of course.
brown better use his noggin this time.

He is far better than a Democrat since we desperately need to replace H. Reid, etc.

Scott Brown is better than Ayotte on amnesty. Ayotte listens to NPR and Scott Brown listens to Howie Carr.

The AWB is dead until enough undocumented Democrats can vote.

This may be an example where Ann Coulter has half an argument for a RINO.

More like he’s the guy who enabled the Democrats to get damn near their entire wish list of legislation during a lame duck session where just weeks earlier they had been handed the biggest national landslide defeat any party had seen in modern history.

NH and MA can do whatever they want, but I wouldn’t vote for the guy for dog catcher. I’d rather have my enemies in front of me where I can fight them than behind me ready to stab me in the back.

Just let him bloody Shaheen’s nose and siphon Demo-dollars. We should be focusing on conservative opportunities for takeover in NC, MS, and OK.

The media will never report on the other three Republican primary candidates for the senate seat.

Thank you for referencing that article Sub-Driver. Please bear in mind that the following critique is directed at the article and not at you.

Why is former Massachusetts Senator Brown taking swings with somebody who voted for Obamacare Democratcare? Regardless that a majority of senators passed constituitonally indefensible Democratcare, and with the exception of the federal entities indicated in the Constitution's 16 & 17 of Section 8 of Article I as examples, the Supreme Court has historically clarified that the states have never delegated to Congress, via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate, tax and spend for public healthcare purposes.

”State inspection laws, health laws, and laws for regulating the internal commerce of a State, and those which respect turnpike roads, ferries, &c. are not within the power granted to Congress. (emphases added)” —Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

Sen. Brown would probably find it easier to fight Democratcare if he would take a closer look at the federal government's constitutionally limited powers.

Exactly.

The crowd here is getting as intolerant as the leftists.

Time to start/find/support a new sight, one that doesn’t use 1995-esque technology, and also has a mobile app.

Bob Smith?

Really?
Seriously?

Ol’ Comb-over has been relevant since he left the Republican party a decade ago.

It's fascinating to catch a glimpse of idiocy.

How, possibly, can you blame Brown for winning the Massachusetts Senate seat and then proceed to blame him for the Democrats' descent into lawlessness?

True enough about the AWB... search under gun control here in FR Land..

Scott Brown, is an adviser to Global Digital Solutions Inc..

GDSI is a smart gun technology company... Scott Brown will be right in there with VP Biden and Eric Holder putting them on your 2nd Amendment rights while making some cash!

Scott Brown is a Democrat from Mass period who is carpet bagging his way to the Senate via NH with the GOPe pushing him along.. FYI his record: he voted with the Demoncrats more so than the republican’ts...

I tell every one in NH I can: If its Brown, vote it down! Brown is a political turd.

Loses to whom? Some no name who could *easily* win in Idaho or Mississippi but who *might*,if he/she is lucky, get 20% of the vote in New Hampshire?
