DONETSK, Ukraine Several dozen armed men seized a police station in a city in eastern Ukraine and hoisted the Russian flag above the building Saturday as tensions in the country's Russian-speaking regions intensify.
The city of Slovyansk is about 90 kilometers (55 miles) north of the regional center, Donetsk, where pro-Russian protesters have occupied a government building for nearly a week.
About 20 men in balaclavas armed with automatic rifles and pistols were guarding the entrance to the police station in the city of about 120,000 people, and another 20 were believed to be inside. They wore St. George's ribbons, which have become a symbol of pro-Russian protesters in eastern Ukraine. The ribbons were originally associated with the Soviet Union's victory in World War II.

Lol...you’re becoming less coherent every day.
So when is it OK to take over government buildings when you don’t like the government?

raided the local headquarters of the state prosecutor, the state security service and several district police stations. Around 140 guns were seized from a police armory.

Well at least he didn’t mention “Westboro” or “Putinista” yet today.
Looks like that new Maidan government gun confiscation scheme didn't work out as planned.
Are you in the Westboro Church? And I did mention Putinista today.
Will you laugh when Russia invades and kills Ukrainians too? I suspect you will.
The regime in Kiev is finding its lack of answers to the growing national crisis intensifying discontent.
It has given the country no clear answers about urgent political and economic reforms needed to arrest national disintegration. It seems there is a lack of national will in Kiev to provide them.
This has nothing and everything to do with Russia. And of course the rest of Europe which will not be immune from the consequences of a Ukrainian national collapse.

The putschists were and are merely successful insurrectionists. Like the primitive Bolsheviks, with sufficient outside assistance they were competent to overthrow a weak and tottering regime, but then impotent to make anything of it. Lenin’s ‘bowl of mush’, second edition.
The AP reports a total of 40 which can be two army truck or one bus load of 4- 10 men squads. But doesn’t speculate on planning, logistics, or how organization of movement occured. It appears that the approaches or roads are not being monitored very closely. Somebody is aware of beside the organizer (Kremlin)of their movements even if Ukraine forces are swiss cheese.
Won’t bite on the Puntinistas jumping in because their object is to shut your reports down. They just better hope Ukraine pays its gas bill otherwise they won’t.
A two-fer!!!
Truth—The first to die in a war. Lots going on here we do not see—The way I look at it is that there are No good guys in this fight.
If you want to praise Putin, do so.
You seem unable to grasp that criticism of one side is not endorsement of the other. You, and a few like minded folks, seem to think many good freepers have all gone "commie" because we dare question the newly installed government of Ukraine's actions. You toss out terms like Palinista or call others Westboro members. (By the way, you do realize you are a registered member of a website that has one of its key topics the "homosexual agenda"?)
Lighten up Francis-we have different opinions but are on the same team. If Free Republic was around during WW2, I'm sure their would be freepers bad mouthing Stalin's actions...but that would not mean they are supporting hitler.
” Lots going on here we do not seeThe way I look at it is that there are No good guys in this fight.”
Ditto
If some group overthrows your government, then yes, by all means you should try and take the country back again.
I'm seeing statements about Putin and his policies that go beyond criticism of the Ukrainians who threw his puppet out. If you don't understand the Westboro Baptist Church comments, you may not understand their mindset. They show up at funerals, especially of soldiers, to rant about fags. In their minds, the victims died because God's mad at America's policies on gays. I've seen similar statements on FReeRepublic where people cheer Putin on because of their belief that the EU is full of gays and for some reason that makes Putin's bullying of Ukraine logical. I see one poster here who always calls the Ukrainians who want to be free sodomites. So that's the type of thing I see that makes me think they're blinded by an outlook on queers that makes anything Putin does okay; it's Westboro logic.
Why don't you question Putin as much as the newly installed government in Ukraine?
If you support Putin and his policies, why would you mind being called a Putinista? If you don't support him, then why would you even bother to defend his policies. I never minded being called a Reaganite.
I believe Ukraine has a right to chart it's own future. I'm anti-Putin. Get used to it. You can post whatever you want, obviously. I'm going to do the same.
