... or reflecting sunlight back into space.

I understand that this is how major volcanic eruptions cause “summerless” years, the airborne phytoplasma reflecting sunlight away from earth, corrections welcome. Here's a reference to 1816, the year without a summer.

Year Without a Summer

The consequence of reflecting too much sunlight away from the earth is crop failure as a consequence of record frost and snow even in summer.

I used wrong term in post 7. I tried to remember a pyro-related term but should have kept it simple by saying volcanic ash.

A Modest Proposal if I may.

Why not build thousands of refrigerators, set them at maximum, and run them with the doors open?

ANY “geo-engineering” effort will be less assured and more risky than “global warming”

if you want to DEMAND taxpayers pay for “doing something” regarding “global warming”/”climate change” the ONLY legitimate demand you MIGHT make, MIGHT be ONLY for “adjusting to”/”adjusting to live with” “global warming/climate change”; nothing else

40 years ago these people were suggesting spreading a layer of coal dust over the Arctic Circle to stop the coming Ice Age.

I guess if you could get all those “scientists” lined up in a field you could use them for fence posts ... but the real fence posts might object to dumbing down their positions.

“The idea is to grow crops that absorb CO2 from the atmosphere then burn them in a power station to generate energy. The resulting CO2 emissions are captured at the plant and then stored deep underground”

Would it take more energy to do this than was generated by burning the “crops” to start with? Oh, and what would we eat if much of our arable land was devoted to burning “crops”: Soylent Green perhaps?
