The Russian Foreign Ministry has voiced concerns over the buildup of Ukrainian forces and US mercenaries in the southeastern part of the country, calling on Kiev to immediately cease military preparations which could lead to a civil war.
As parts of Ukraine push for greater autonomy with Donetsk and Kharkov declaring independence on Monday the self-imposed government in Kiev is reportedly dispatching additional forces in turbulent regions to avoid potential disobedience by local law enforcements.
We are particularly concerned that the operation involves some 150 American mercenaries from a private company Greystone Ltd., dressed in the uniform of the [Ukrainian] special task police unit Sokol, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Organizers and participants of such incitement are assuming a huge responsibility for threatening upon the rights, freedoms and lives of Ukrainian citizens as well as the stability of Ukraine.
Ukraine's acting interior minister, Arsen Avakov, confirmed that additional police special forces units have arrived in southern and eastern parts of Ukraine from other regions.
These special forces are ready to solve operational problems without the regard to local peculiarities, Ukraine's Interior Ministry quoted Avakov as saying.

“a strong US president, even Reagan himself, would not have done so.”
Reagan wouldn’t have been dumb enough to tell the Ukrainians that if they gave up all their weapons, that NATO would protect them, like Clinton did.
Ukraine should remove its military from its own territory at once! Why is it threatening Russia in the first place? And mercenaries, to boot.
“Reagan wouldnt have been dumb enough to tell the Ukrainians that if they gave up all their weapons, that NATO would protect them, like Clinton did.”
With that i agree 100%.
You are correct.
Wiki:
Wesley Clark ordered that Blunt’s unit forcibly take the airport from the Russian contingent. However, after Blunt queried the order, Mike Jackson, Blunt’s superior officer, and Blunt himself refused to comply fearing greater consequences, with Jackson stating that they were “not going to start the Third World War” for Clark.
Yes. They trusted Soviet Russia for years while Putin's regime infiltrated the entire country, inciting disobedience with false promises.
I can’t seem to find Yugoslavia on a map nowadays, but I think the Russians remember it.
Moscow will hopefully get the Dresden treatment one day.
Why do you spread this crap? It doesn’t take a genius to understand RT is a Russian mouth piece. You can scratch Kharkiv off your list. The provocateurs are in jail.
America needs you Ronald W. Reagan...
:(
Certainly Putin’s playmates read RT religiously. If you’ll notice, the wording, catch phrases and insults of their posts closely parallel the writing that appear on RT’s website. Who needs to read anything else?
“It doesnt take a genius to understand RT is a Russian mouth piece.”
No, it doesn’t.
But, in the lack of real reporting from any US sources, (no one on the actual reporting from the ground), who are just regurgitating press releases, or praising the glory of THE WON, and his prince Kerry (Of Vietnam, doncha know!), Russian media is still the best English Language source for info about what is going on.
It’s up to us to take all the info available, and try to devine a truth from it. It’s what FR is really good at.
At this point the Russian media is broadcasting BS 24/7. Unless you accept it as lies you won’t get near the truth. Spreading it, supports it and gives it credence for others that don’t look deeper.

Yes, Russia Today, as it used to be termed ("RT" does sound so much more sanitized) is about as reliable as, say, Pravda is...
Pravda is owned by an American :-)
He’s a real regular pro-Putin poster.
“Pravda is owned by an American :-)”
The Washington Post is an American newspaper published by an American Communist, so what’s your point?
RT has broken news in the past - like about when a U.S. aircraft carrier was heading to be off the coast of Syria last year - a report that no one would touch, but was followed up by Reason.com
Sure, some stuff from RT might be best taken with a grain of salt. But the same can also be said about MSNBC, CNN and other state media in the U.S.
In the end, verify - no matter who it is.
And with that in mind, I don't treat RT any differently than I do the New York Slimes, Washington Compost, MSDNC, See BS, etc.
That doesn’t mean that the United States has to accept the offer.
Not saying it is, as I don’t know, but we have no business getting involved in this anymore than we would giving aid, help, arms or mercenaries to the Syrian rebels - a pit that we almost fell into concerning Syria.
Svoboda and Right Sector are in Ukraine. Svoboda is ultranationalist, described as soft Neo Nazi’s; Svoboda has 1/4 of the interim gov’t seats in Ukraine. Dumb move on Uraine’s part.
And that bone-ead Mccain (who had some love for KLA, then pictured with notorious Syrian rebels and then lately Svoboda leaders) wants to arm Ukrainians!
Who’s hands could/those weapons fall into?
Why should the U.S. help Ukraine if doing so would indirectly or directly help Nazi Svoboda, Right Sector? Svoboda was given 1/4 of the interim gov’t seats.
Might as well arm the Syrian rebels! That would also be a dumb move. And Americans lasy year saw through that and around 80% said NO.
