Instead of viewing college as a place to get an education, these students view college as a place full of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc., and have created a very long list of politically correct demands.

I dunno.
The students are going to be there for about 4 years, maybe, then they're gone.
The College presumably has a multitude of responsibilities they have to meet year in and year out in perpetuity, in many areas not limited to financially.
The College also presumably may have some interest in the academic quality of the students they admit. (Although the demands might tend to belie that supposition.)
The College doesn't need a bunch of inexperienced baby thugs trying to bully them.

So...

I'd give each student-thug one week to submit a formal written/notarized repudiation of theses "demands" or face immediate expulsion.

Did you notice in their long list of things that they also want to have individuals assigned to each of them to have their diapers changed on an hourly basis whether they need to be or not?
Ok I’m kidding about that. But it is about the only thing they did not demand.
A$$holes!

The real world will be quite the awakening for these self-important little pukeballs.

I paid my student loans. It certainly wasn’t easy. Articles like this make me hope they remain outside the purview of bankruptcy courts forever so these brats, concerned only with their genitalia and self-imposed victimhood, suffer in debt for decades. The legitimate schools and legitimate students are headed for careers that will actually afford them employment that will pay those loans off quite readily. The writers of this (poorly written) diatribe of demands? Not so much.

At Dartmouth, 81 percent of Pan Asian students self-identify as Asian American, yet the College still does not have an academic program or coursework focused on the Asian American experience.

That's because they really self-identify as engineers, scientists, and business people in training. They don't need your useless crap about the "Asian American experience" (whatever that is).

For some reason, the word “sophomoric” comes to mind.

Is this satire? I cannot believe my tax dollars pay for little sh8ts like this to spend all day writing up crap.

“Enact curricular changes that require all students to interrogate issues of social justice, marginalization and exploitation in depth. Each student should have to take classes that will challenge their understanding of institutionalized injustice around issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, etc. This learning objective could be embedded in all first year seminars.”

Quite the little Hitlers aren’t they? They could have shortened this to ‘We demand re-education camps!’

“We demand body and gender self-determination”

I demand a mental health facility, with these students checked in.

“Increase OPAL’s budget to support student organizations that represent Asian, Black, Latin@, Native, Undocumented, Queer, and Differently-Abled Students”

Since when did we use the ‘@’ symbol at the end of the word ‘Latino’? Is it now racist not to do that? I can’t keep up.

As a side note, pay attention to this. There is not one use of the ridiculous term ‘homophobia’ here. The term has been replaced with ‘heterosexism’. I would draw parallels from the graduation of ‘racism’ to ‘white privilege’. They are going to make these words less about what they do, and more about what you are. This is a graduation in demonization, at a Goebbels level of lunacy.

As far as I’m concerned.

These students can go straight to HELL

Sigh, those children fools WASPish students at Dartmouth will eventually grow up and join the human race.
Right now, they should NEVER be allowed out of their bassinets and cribs--without mommy their nanny.

I keep forGETting, mommy works now. Mommy is finding her "place in the sun boardroom." Perhaps "daddy" was a, er, "donor."

It all fits the profile of the ole "Murphy Brown" attitude, that is, that fathers, men in general, aren't necessary.

Ok, so the demands demanded a response by March 24th, 2014. Love to see if there was one, and what it contained.

The really bad part of this is that there are real students there, paying $65K/year, and the administration that is supposed to be running their baccalaureate program is, instead, paying attention to this.

This should have been handled in 5 minutes.

I like to see clear-eyed demands like this. As they insist on dialing up the hatred, a Final Solution to the Progressive Problem becomes ever more justified...

As is said in The Godfather, there will be a time when the Democrats will have to answer for Santino.

The cost of attending Dartmouth is $65, 523 in the first year. http://www.dartmouth.edu/~finaid/fao/coa/

All of the children participating in this exercise in political correctness are privileged. Either they were fortunate enough to be born into households where the parents can afford to spend over a quarter of a million dollars sending them to Dartmouth or they are the beneficiaries of government and private funding which allows them to attend the school.

The immaturity, lack of gratitude, and selfishness inherent in the list of demands suggests they are not responsible enough or worthy of the financial investment being made in their education. While their parents may hold positions of leadership in the governing elites, it is clear they have failed miserably in raising their offspring and should not be trusted with any position affecting the lives and property of average citizens. This nation has become completely detached from reality.

Here's the Darthmouth students' list of politically correct demands

I read just enough to be able to respond.

Why is this news?

Aside from morbid curiosity, or extreme boredom, who cares what Darthmouth students think about demands, politically correct or otherwise?

When they grow up and experience the real world for a few years, we might accept them into the world of adults with useful opinions.

Create a policy banning the Indian mascot (e.g., turn away people from sporting events who are wearing Indian head shirts).
