Chaka Fattah Jr., son of Rep. Chaka Fattah (D., Pa.), is suing the Internal Revenue Service, seeking nearly $1 million in damages for what he says were violations of IRS rules that harmed his reputation and crippled his earning power during an investigation into allegedly unpaid taxes. ---SNIP--- He said that since the raid, his income plummeted, he had to leave his home at the Ritz-Carlton, and he faced additional lawsuits and liens over other debts and unpaid taxes.

Fattah Jr., who once drove a Range Rover Sport and cultivated a reputation as a high-end mover in city affairs, had faced lawsuits over unpaid bills and loans even before the raid.

The kid is a stone cold con man but note the way liberals react to the IRS. It also helps if your father is congressman.

He said revenue from his marketing and management consulting businesses, 259 Strategies, fell from $341,000 in 2011 to $20,000 in 2012 earned before investigators arrived at his home and office.

After the investigation surfaced, he lost a $12,000-per-month contract with Delaware Valley High School, a for-profit company that at the time worked with school districts to educate students with discipline problems.

he had to leave his home at the Ritz-Carlton

That's got to hurt a whole lot more than having to abandon the double wide.

The raids are an outgrowth of the fraud conviction of Mikel Jones, a Philadelphia lawyer and former aide to Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-Fla.), who has been a friend of the elder Fattah since they were children. In January 2011, Jones told two FBI agents that he had hired 259 Strategies and another company run by Fattah Jr. for consulting, according to the agents’ report of the conversation.

Jones, who had extensive credit problems, told investigators that Fattah Jr. helped him obtain an American Express card by “writing the CEO of the company and calling repeatedly until AMEX agreed to open the account.” Jones also told investigators that Fattah Jr. charged expenses to Jones’s wife’s American Express account without telling Jones.

Rep. Chaka Fattah sought a “green vehicle” earmark for a for-profit school where his adult son, Chaka Fattah Jr. — now under investigation by the Justice Department — worked as director of business development.

The agents reported that Jones was surprised to find out that he had paid Fattah Jr.’s companies more than $90,000 and that Jones couldn’t come up with specifics on the consulting work that Fattah Jr. did for the money.

“Was it a good investment, strictly speaking? No,” Jones told the agents. “But I was desperate and he had access.”

Note to members of the Black Crook Caucus. This is how you do looting correctly - government contracts for your kids' companies. Do not, I repeat do not take cash and put it in your freezer.

Unless he was getting a special rate, and annual income of $341,000 is not sufficient after taxes to cover the cost of making the Ritz Carlton a primary residence.

Chaka Fattah was born Arthur Davenport. His father was Russell Davenport, so I guess it was Pops that go the “Back to His Roots” urge.
