In a speech on the Senate floor Tuesday, Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) said free enterprise isn´t always best. Government must step in. "The free enterprise system is a strong system," he said, but it "created unfairness and injustice when it came to health care, which we are addressing with this Affordable Care Act." In passing that law, Durbin said Democrats "rejected the free enterprise approach to health care and said let´s have something that basically respects families." Given that Senator Durbin spent a few years in private law practice prior to becoming a public official and ward of the taxpayer, I have a question for Senator Durban.
What percentage of the total hours you worked while in private practice (i.e the free enterprise system) did you spend on pro bono legal work for the poor and downtrodden? Please provide time sheets detailing paid and no charge hours worked.
Demagogues typically arguing the perfection argument to the guillible. Nothing is perfect, especially coercive socialist government. A free society can have these things, but minimally, especially compared to a coercive socialist society where unfairness and injustice are very high.

Liberals are opposed to individual liberty as defined in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. The only real issue they have with chattel slavery in America two hundred years ago is that the slaves were privately owned.
They are all orgasmic over the idea of slavery to the state.
Democrats never pass up on opportunity to tell us why enslavement by the state is for our own protection and our own safety, because life under the anarchy that conservatives want to impose is just too risky and dangerous.
