GOP candidate for Calif. governor is sex offender, served decade in jail for manslaughter
FoxNews ^ | March 27, 2014 | Stephanie McNeal

At the California Republican Party’s convention earlier this month, chairman Jim Brulte announced 2014 would be the year of “pushing the party outside of its comfort zone,” and introduced four candidates vying to take on incumbent Gov. Jerry Brown in November.

Champ said:

“They shouldn’t dwell on my past. They should be looking at the future of California and what I can do,” he said.

What you can do is....keep dreamin'.

Precisely. Past is prologue, especially for Mr. “99% of the time”.

I prefer Jerry Brown to a sex pervert and killer.

Never thought I’d have a nice word to say about California’s incumbent governor on a conservative forum.

But if all the GOP can serve up as its candidate is a sex pervert and murderer, I’ll stay in my “comfort zone.”

Sheesh!

“Champ said he is running on a campaign that promotes “American Christian values,” supporting tax breaks for businesses and gun rights and opposing same-sex marriage and abortion “99 percent of the time.” Champ said these issues are what California voters should be focusing on.”

no more rinos, this guy sounds like a solid conservative to me.

Glenn Champ, who is listed as an “engineer and businessman” on the state election website, has a lengthy rap sheet. He was nabbed for picking up an underage prostitute in 1993, which resulted in him pleading guilty to two counts of assault with intent to commit rape and becoming a registered sex offender.
In 1998, Champ also pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter. An Associated Press article at the time said authorities accused Champ of running over a competitor in the garbage collection business with his truck after an argument, killing him. Champ told FoxNews.com the incident was a "tragic accident."
He received 12 years in prison and says he served 10 and three-quarters before he was released in 2009.

Champ said he is running on a campaign that promotes “American Christian values,” supporting tax breaks for businesses and gun rights and opposing same-sex marriage and abortion “99 percent of the time.” Champ said these issues are what California voters should be focusing on.

I think I will pass.

I guess we’re so dump that all a sex offender killer candidate has to say is, “I identify with American Christian values”, and viola! Conservatives vote for him. /s

Oh wait! Are you nuts, or are you just playing a person that is on the forum?

I don’t know a single Conservative that matches this guys record.

Jerry the fairy is a sex offender but I haven't hears of him being a murderer.

He was arrested and booked into the Sierra Madre Sheriffs station for child molesting in 1958.

His father, Pat Brown, and Jessy Unruh got him out within 2 hours and had the record expunged.

Hell no, the record was expunged that night.

I know about it because a good friend of mine was the desk sargent that booked him.

He came by my speed shop in Pasadena after he got off work and told us about it.

He wouldn’t publicly push the issue because his father had refused to back off on a case years before and he got a politician put in prison and it ended his career as a Sheriff.

They sent him to LACC to teach criminalogy until he got retirement and never got promoted beyond sargent.

My friend is now retired and retired as Captain with a good pension.

Don't worry. Karl Rove can work wonders ... even for this guy.

I can see it now, Karl Rove ads telling CAca's voters that
"Brulte says Champ's victim(s) looked 18 and were provocatively dressed, and the guy he killed was no prize, either. To top it off, while in stir, Brulte says Champ did a lot of reading."

This ironically named loser is not a serious candidate.

The serious candidates are conservative State Assemblyman Tim Donnelly and RINO former Assistant Treasury Secretary in charge of TARP, Neel Kashkari.

Kashkari has WAY more money so far.

Kashkari is such an Uber-RINO he makes the Rahm Emanuel pal that the IL GOP just nominated for Governor look conservative in comparison. He's like a super RINO created by combining bits and pieces of lesser RINOs.

Seems pretty clear to me that conservatives need to rally behind Tim Donnelly if we have any chance of nominating someone decent.

Aguirre is going nowhere, “Champ” is a guaranteed loser and joke, and Kashkari is so liberal he makes Ahnuld blush. There’s also two additional Republican candidates the California GOP didn’t even mention: Laguna Hills Mayor Andrew Blount and Alma Marie Winston, former CEO of Civil Rights Legal Defense Fund.

You’re confusing RINOs with spineless conservatives who cave to Dems.

RINOs are tough — they’re just fighting for the other team instead of the one they claim to be a member of. Kashkari will work hard to implement the left’s agenda.
