I prefer Jerry Brown to a sex pervert and killer.

Come election day, I just check the letter after the name. If it's a D, I vote for the one with the R.

Elections are not about principles. They are about winning! Only children vote on principle!

Surely it’s not the only GOP candidate?

“Sex offender and Manslaughter”, just watch, they will spin this to make it sound like he may have some hidden character flaws."

Then again, it is California.

If he cross-dresses, he'll be a shoe-in.

Looks like the California Republican Party has abandoned any form of standard now.

There are 28 million adults in California.

This is all the Geriatric Old Plotters could come up with?

There are over 30 million people in California.

We must be able to find a Conservative better than this person.

In 1998, Champ also pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter. An Associated Press article at the time said authorities accused Champ of running over a competitor in the garbage collection business with his truck after an argument, killing him. Champ told FoxNews.com the incident was a "tragic accident."

'I do not recall that'

Cali GOP is having another Casey Stengel moment: “Can’t anybody here play this game?” Spreading eastward too!

“One of those candidates may be way outside that comfort zone — a businessman, who also is a registered sex offender who served a decade in prison for voluntary manslaughter.”....

WHAT? He’s NOT a demodummie? AMAZING!

“no more rinos, this guy sounds like a solid conservative to me.”

And that’s exactly why we need to start choosing our nominees on a basis other than who can mouth the most conservative-sounding rhetoric.

I wonder if everything he claims to be against 99% of the time would fall under that 1% if he were elected.
I don’t know how to look up the criminal records of people but when we moved to our present location we searched the web to see if there were sex offenders in the area. 1 popped up. Turns out he was in high school and got caught in the back seat of the car with his girl friend on his 18th birthday. She was 17. Her Dad pressed charges. Ouch. Now a sex offender for ever. He married the girl 2 yrs. later.

Gosh-a-mighty, Doughty! Lighten tf up!

It's not like Champ committed an environmental crime, like forgetting to put the plastic with the plastic ... or heavens forfend, setting a forest fire in an endangered species area. In fact, he was in the recycling business, just like a Green Tony Soprano.

Please also note: I have it on good authority that his garbage truck (the one he used to run over that nasty competitor) passed its CA Emissions Test with flying colors!

SO, let's all get our Green on and back up this entrepreneurial citizen. After all, Charlie Manson keeps getting denied parole and is unavailable.

This would be a resumé enhancer for a Dem candidate.

Neel Kashkari. And the Cal GOP wonders why it cannot win elections when it offers up a vile RINO stooge like this:

‘On social issues, Kashkari has described himself as libertarian and “a different kind of Republican”, supporting abortion rights, marriage equality, and a path to legal status for illegal immigrants.

He voted against California’s Proposition 8, which banned same-sex marriage in 2008. In 2013 he was one of 131 Republicans who signed a pro-marriage equality amicus curiae brief submitted to the U.S. Supreme Court as part of Hollingsworth v. Perry, the case in which Proposition 8 was ultimately found unconstitutional.

Kashkari owns four guns but considers waiting periods and background checks before purchasing a firearm to be reasonable, going as far as saying that “If you’re a single issue voter, and you just want someone to give you a full capacity assault rifle magazine, God bless you, you can go vote for somebody else.”’

Any bets on whether Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved will be backing Neel Kashkari?

“Just guessing, but if one digs deep, this guy is a DEMOCRAT POSING as a Republican!! “

That prize goes to Neel Kashkari, who is the serious choice of the GOP-e.

Seems pretty clear to me that conservatives need to rally behind Tim Donnelly if we have any chance of nominating someone decent.

Well we won't be "nominating" anyone. Remember, all-party primary (and runoff in November between the top 2 finishers, even if one of them won a majority in the primary).

I think this will greatly benefit TARP boy since anyone can vote for him in the primary. That's worse than an open partisan primary where at least you have to pick a party, democrats wanting to crossover for a major GOP race might be dissuaded by not being able to vote in any contested rat races on the ballot. With this system they have in Cali those kinds of voters can have their cake and eat it too.

It would figure either Kashkari or Donnelly will make the runoff but theoretically it could be anyone. Cindy Sheehan is running on the "Peace and Freedom Party" line, she really hurts the Green party candidate's chances of making the runoff.

Alma Marie Winston, former CEO of Civil Rights Legal Defense Fund.

Beautiful picture of the golden gate bridge on her website. Probably the best thing about San Fran.
