Family is what one makes it, not an accident of birth. People say that’s BS. Well if it’s BS does it not then logically mean that no adoptive child has a family? There is no blood there so which is it? Both cannot be true.
Bottom line: People (many, not all) simply do not want to make the mental effort to rid themselves of libs. They would rather stay status quo and let them destroy all they claim to love and believe in...then claim it ain’t their fault. That’s what their actions show.

I agree with you. I have done the same with a relative who is a typical raving Chicago lib and “party member for life” of the Democratic Party, or as I refer to them as the Socialist Democratic Party.
It’s liberating isn’t it? Suddenly all the grief they cause gust goes away and you can think clearly.
People that have yet to do it just don’t realize the box they are keeping themselves in...or more accurately, are being kept in. If people would just consider the obvious...How many family functions cause some version of the thought “Oh great...how long before (relative) starts in with the BS?”? EVERY other member of that family is thinking the same. And what of ‘Freinds”? Personally I don’t see how someone that looks at (the general) you and their beliefs mark you as a racist homophobe bullying bigot can be any definition of a ‘friend’.
Relationships change. People change. and not always for the better. I will never understand why people are so willing to dwell in misery just to avoid ending that misery.
There are relationships in life that cannot be mended, be it a family member or otherwise. It’s something we must face and deal with. They make their move, and you make yours. And that’s life.

I’ve noticed that in just about any poll on presidents or any subject that pits conservative ideals against liberal ones, there is that 38%-42% that is always there on the left. It seems to never waiver, always 38%-42% of Americans are socialists.......................

That math actually makes more sense by far than the comment by Obama that some people would pay 3000 percent LESS for insurance. That may not be EXACTLY right but it was something close to that. I hear this garbage every day about “500 times smaller” etc., mathematical impossibilities from people who are supposedly educated.
Most don’t want forty acres and a Lexus, they want two Lexus, an apartment and an EBT card.
Right now I would take forty acres and a mule if it was far enough away from the current insanity.
That is why Common Core is so important to learn. We need to teach the youth that nothing adds up and insipid illogical political moves are the only solution.

I did this with my ridiculous CATHOLIC liberal MIL and life improved immensely afterwards. I just got tired of her hypocritical crap which went into overdrive during the election of 2008. She no longer has an opportunity to spout her nonsense around me or to make me miserable anymore.
