It's a real pain getting shot ---- right in the neighborhood.
A friend of mine, heart in the right place type person, volunteered for a couple of years at a local animal shelter. She is in the network regarding info on the mistreatment of animals. She was advising that the powers that be in the animal welfare organizations are finding out that people innocently list their unwanted pets on such sites as Craig’s List looking to place them for adoption. Along comes some sweet young thing to view the pet, gushes over it, avows it will get a good loving home with her, and away they go. The dogs then often end up in these dog fight rings, are abused into becoming vicious, serve out their usefulness in the ring, then die as a result or because they become useless. Better to euthanize a pet then put them thru that horror me thinks.
About ten years ago, there was a powerful stench in my office building garage that fronts on an alley. I discovered that it was coming from the trash of the next door neighbor. There was a dead dog lying on top of the trash can, and its flesh had a large bare patch and the whole body was covered in maggots.
I called the city animal control, and health departments, and got no response, so I finally tracked down the building owner, and he sent someone out to dispose of the corpse.
I thought a tenant in the neighboring building had disposed of a dead pet, but I was told that dog fighters dispose of their losers by throwing them in any available dumpster or trash can. If my memory is anywhere near accurate, the dead dog was pit bull.
I’ve watched all those nature shows on TV in which animals attack other animals. It’s instinct and survival for them. They need to eat, defend their turf, and reproduce. But, for humans to make them do it for entertainment and profit is pure evil.

Knuckledraggers that engage in dogfighting are among the lowest form of life and are deserving of an agonizing death.

People who do this should be crucified.
Out here in the boonies I’ve seen three or four intact dead deer emerge here and there along the major arteries, as well as assorted raccoons and other small critters. It was a deep freeze for months, as you well know.
I think that evil has always been here and there is no increase as a percentage of the population today. We just have more people now and the total expression is greater.
