What the Heck… Karl Rove Warns Republicans to Stop Attacking Obamacare?

By nearly every metric, Democrats are finding that Obamacare is a millstone around their necks for the upcoming 2014 midterm elections. Yet so-called Republican Karl Rove is telling the GOP to stop attacking Obamacare? What is he thinking?

Yet, even as Rove says Republicans shouldn’t Attack Obamacare, elections statistician Larry Sabato Says Obamacare is killing Democrats. What is Karl Rove thinking by telling Republicans not to attack Obamacare very hard while Larry Sabato is saying the Dems are extremely vulnerable on Obamacare?

Rove made his comments in a new Wall Street Journal piece.

“The only thing that could rescue Democrats is for Republican candidates to appear as advocates for the pre-ObamaCare status quo. Hopefully, there’s not much of a chance of that.”

On the other hand, Larry Sabato said this:

“The problem that is, when you are on the offense, using your time in the public arena, to discuss a subject that people have more or less already made up their minds about and don’t like it, you’re wasting your time in the arena,” he said.

Sabato also pointed out the minority of the public that does favor Obamacare is not very enthusiastic about it, a possible recipe for disaster in midterm elections.

“But the majority who oppose Obamacare are much more charged up, and they’re the people who tend to turn up in a low turnout midterm election.”

Is Rove trying to say the GOP should work to keep Obamacare and just tinker on the edges of it thereby taking a great issue away from GOP candidates?

Why would he be saying this when it is clear that Obamacre is a major stumbling block for Democrats going into this election?

Maybe we are seeing that Karl Rove is a lover of big government after all?

While Rove is pretty much the reason the modern GOP is such a disaster, I have said all along that all in against ODimwit care is a huge loser.

A very small minority want it outright repealed. Despite anecdotes, it is gaining popularity. In 6 months people are not going to want to “start again”.

If the GOP comes across as a rabble screaming about Obamacare (which the majority will like by then) you can kiss the Senate goodbye for a VERY VERY long time

Rove exists to serve the GOP-e, not conservatives. The only thing a Christian can do is warn them against fighting the Supreme Being, which is what they are doing by embracing and promoting the worldly liberal agenda.

Of course, Karl.

The GOP wouldn't want to be the opposition party or anything.

What? Premiums are going up. I am hearing horror stories from people all the time. They can’t delay the consequences of this epic fail bill forever.

While I understand Rove’s point of view, that you have to tell voters you will retain some goodies for them - That is exactly what’s wrong with our country and Karl Rove is just insane with this moderate liberal routine.

He ought to realize that he has gone from being hated by CNN to being loved by CNN, and that means he is a sellout.

Nice strawman you've got there. Who's the rabble screaming about Obamacare? Ted Cruz?

Obamacare will never die. When premiums go through the roof next year, it will metastasize into Single Payer and Obama will announce “mission accomplished.”

So, in other words, there is no hope for this country, because most people in it are just dumber than a box of rocks.

Do we need any more evidence to be provided to know whose side Karl Rove is on? He is definitely not on the conservative side, and I would argue that he’s not on America’s side, either. The topic of Obamacare is a strong point for “our side” and should be hammered on DAILY!!!

Name one person that is for Obamacare that might change their vote to a conservative if we stop criticizing it. Name one... just one.

Rove only sees the tea party as the thing to be against...

This man is a creep but he does represent the establishment.
