My church has a number of concealed carriers in EVERY service and stationed in stratgic places in the church.
It’s about damn time the ridiculous anti-silencer laws started getting repealed. Even Britain is more lenient with silencers than we are.
LOL! Most of europe is more “lenient” when it comes to “silencers”. If and where you can actually get a firearm. Anybody got a shotgun silencer? I’ve seen some videos of “quiet shoots” on you tube. Pretty interesting. Maybe the sturgeon general could push for relaxation of “silencer” laws to protect hearing. It’s a medical/health issue after all.
If the Georgia Baptist churches are like ours some CHL’ers carry regardless of what the law says. Concealed means concealed.
I’m going to post here because I am having trouble making a new one.
A young man has been summoned to meet with the President of his college, Chattanooga State community for wearing an empty holster. A teacher complained. He has to meet at 2:00 pm. eastern today. He plans on recording the conversation. He can’t afford a lawyer, and neither can I. He is 22 or 23. He doesn’t belong to any gun rights groups.
Any suggestions on what else he needs to do?

Britain does not allow guns so there is no need for silencer laws. But why is the government passing laws on what is going on in churches?
Britain does allow guns in the country, licensed for farmers, and to be courteous, they allow silencers so neighbors are not disturbed.
Family history, one of my ancestors shot a man in church around the turn of the 20th century. I think it about a woman.
Georgia’s law dates to Reconstruction. It was part of an effort to keep the recently freed slaves from organizing armed resistance movements in churches.
Let them do most of the talking. Answer questions with brevity and simple language. Keep throwing the ball back into their court and let them say stupid things. Don’t ask smart-assed questions or accuse them of anything outside not understanding the constitution.
It could come down to a case of private versus public property etc...
When it comes to silencers my experience with a Winchester. 308 rifle is that such a gun is still LOUD even with a suppressor on.
Perhaps the one thing that I have seen reduced in noise is some .22 gun.
Wrong, Britain has a licensing procedure for guns. In fact, people go wild game hunting there.
The licensing procedure isn’t for those without a clean record and a not so scary justification for getting the gun though.
Suppressors are most effective when paired with sub sonic cartridges. I’ve seen semi auto .22 LR rifles set up,this way and just about all you can hear is the movement of the bolt.
Silencers still leave plenty of guns pretty loud, say, over 100 decibels.
It works similarly with a .22 pistol or the bolt action rifle. And you don’t hear much more than a snap, as I would describe it.
I would prefer that people have suppressors on their guns when hunting or target shooting. If I were a neighbor to someone who target shoots, it would be nice if they would turn the sound of their gunshots down a few decibels. Plus, the penalty for owning a suppressor for anything less than such a hefty tax plus price is rediculous. It’s sad that politicians and plenty of people who vote for them are stupid enough to think that a silencer in a movie is the reality of a suppressor in reality, when in fact it’s not. Even with an audible gunshot murder, a murderer has time to run before police or numerous witnesses arrive on the scene.
