Sam Adams Pulls Out Of St. Patrick's Parade Over Gay Exclusion

Billionaire Jim Koch’s Boston Beer SAM +1.41% Co., producer of the popular Sam Adams brew, will no longer be sponsoring Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade because of the organizer’s failure to include LGBT groups. The move comes after a Boston bar said it would no longer serve Sam Adams beer because of its support of the parade. Gay rights advocacy group MassEquality and organizers of the South Boston parade, the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council, have been embroiled in talks attempting to broker a deal to allow 20 LGBT veterans to march. A 1995 U.S. Supreme Court decision ruled that the council could include or exclude groups at its discretion.

Gays pushing their Brokeback agenda in our faces again. Sam Adams beer is not very good anyway. Easy to put on the "do not do" list.

Used to keep some Sam Adams at the cottage for my neighbours - looks like I’ll have to switch.

I read on an earlier thread that part of the reason for the breakdown in negotiations was that there is only one (1) gay veteran, who assembled 19 of his friends to march with him. So the issue of being a veteran or a gay veteran was secondary to using a parade honoring a Catholic saint to push the gay agenda.

The real Sam Adams was a vicious anti Catholic bigot. The company is remaining true to the sentiments of its namesake.

Why can’t the radical gays have their own parade celebrating Pan or Dionysius or whomever. Leave Saint Patrick alone. What’s next, abortion advocates wanting to appropriate Saint Patrick for themselves?

Maybe Sam Adams wants to be helpful and push their stool in.

No one is saying gays can’t be in the parade but, honestly, if they can parade their sexual identity and proclivities then what is to stop polygamists or those who are proud to act on the preferences for bestiality?

Keep yer sex life and activities to yourself...

I’m drinking a Ninkasi Oatmeal Stout at the moment and it tastes good. Being that the brewery is located in Eugene, OR, they are most likely pro queer but they haven’t said so. I hope they don’t as I like their beers and don’t want to know.

I think I’ve bought their beer in the past, but I won’t be doing so again. Their namesake must be rolling in his grave.
