Sam Adams Pulls Out Of St. Patrick's Parade Over Gay Exclusion

Billionaire Jim Koch’s Boston Beer SAM +1.41% Co., producer of the popular Sam Adams brew, will no longer be sponsoring Boston’s St. Patrick’s Day parade because of the organizer’s failure to include LGBT groups. The move comes after a Boston bar said it would no longer serve Sam Adams beer because of its support of the parade. Gay rights advocacy group MassEquality and organizers of the South Boston parade, the South Boston Allied War Veterans Council, have been embroiled in talks attempting to broker a deal to allow 20 LGBT veterans to march. A 1995 U.S. Supreme Court decision ruled that the council could include or exclude groups at its discretion.

I too boycott and brand that I disagree with their politically correct politics. They need to produce good products and refrain from taking political stances.

yeah, that’s also a very good lager. They might be a bunch of Pa. libs too however. Since you like those, you’d also love Caybrew (the lager of the Caymans).

Just imagine this: people watching the parade...

“Oh look, the next group we see is the Gay veterans. Now here are the straight veterans. Ah, here’s the gay members of the carpenters’ union, and now the straight members of the carpenters’ union. Straight firefighters...gay firefighters...”

The Supreme Court decision is to protect organizations from having undesirable members—not just a matter of having gay veterans turn the parade into a political statement, but:

—It can assure the organizers of the gay pride parade
they don’t have to allow Westboro Baptist in with their signs

—A Campus Republicans group can say to a moonbat who joins then disrupts meetings by yelling “you’re all fascist
bigots!”, “hey, you...SCREW!” They can evict him.

—Kids marching in the Little League parade don’t have to worry that NAMBLA won’t demand to be allowed to march.
“Hey, we here at NAMBLA just looooooooooove kids!”

Dick Yuengling is a staunch conservative. He threw the unions out of his brewery and sued the city of Philadelphia after they tried to extort local taxes from him. He is no friend of the left and there are “Boycott Yuengling” petitions and FB pages all over the web.

You could certainly do a lot worse!

I have it on tap at my house. When I'm not on tap, I prefer cans poured into frozen pint glasses. Not a big fan of the bottles.

All Sam Adams variations have that same “Sam Adams” taste.
I’ve been done with the brand for a while now.
Even when the choice is Sam or Bud i’ll choose the Bud for now on though.
