This sure gives Muslim pilots a black eye. Unfortunate. /s

Muslims.
Peace, joy, kindness, and selflessness just seem to follow them wherever they go.

This is the ‘video offensive to Islam therefore Benghazi’ tack I’ve been waiting for someone to cough up.
If you’re a suicide bomber, you don’t choose targets 7 hours away that you have to run to like a Kentucky whiskey smuggler.

Hijacking per se is not the problem.
Flying it without being seen by massive standardized global overlapping ELINT is the problem, as well as where to park it.
IF the pilot did this, it wasn’t over a political snit. He must have been involved with others that included cloaking techies, and at least one nation-state. And that means this was long planned.

The pilot must be a leftist. If he was a conservative it would have been in the headline.

Convicted, among other things, of sodomizing a male aide.
These jokes just write themselves. Of course, this being Malaysia, it might be a total frame-up.

Here it comes. It was an act of political protest, not Islamic terrorism.

Meanwhile, military radar showed the jet climbed to 45,000ft above its service limit which could have been a deliberate attempt to knock out the passengers and crew. Commonly cited as fact, but could well be just more Malaysian incompetence.
Anybody know how accurate "military" radar is at gauging the elevation at which a non-transponding aircraft is flying?

No one needs to state the obvious anymore. The truth is self-evident. Don’t fly on an airplane with a Muslim in the cockpit.
