If Issa and Boehner didn’t know before the hearing Lerner would take the 5th for the second time they are just plain stupid. I knew Issa was either naive or stupid when he went on Fox News Sunday before the hearing and bragged that Lerner would testify.
If the Republicans were serious about the IRS scandal, Boehner would called the House into session the day after the Lerner hearing and the Republicans would have voted to hold her in contempt. The fact they keep rattling swords and talking for weeks only makes them look like the weaklings they’ve chosen to be. They’ve completely lost credibility with their conservative voting base, not to mention the media and the Democrats.
One thing I have give the Democrat leadership in Congress credit for is not making idle threats. Harry Reid quickly kicked McConnell, McCain and all of the GOP RINO Senators in the face to kill the filibuster for presidential appointments. Reid understands bear knuckle politics. Pelosi ran the House the same way when she was in charge.
The behavior of Republican leaders Boehner, Cantor, Issa, McConnell, McCain, Graham, etc has moved beyond pathetic to down right embarrassing. It would be much better if they just shut their mouths, hold the necessary votes, and stop trying to make noises like they can make a difference. Every word they utter is empty.
We are all inpatient, but I think timing is everything. The closer we get to the election, the time will be more important to pursue in public Benghzi, IRS etc.
I love it. The battle cry at FR is get rid of the RINOs and the republicans that are not 100% conservative. Yeah, let’s get rid of all the electable republicans and assure the senate democrats for the next 50 years.

I’m not calling for getting rid of the RINO’s that aren’t 100% conservative. My point of view is that if you aren’t going to back up your words with actions, don’t utter the words. Making idle threats with no action only makes you look weak.
If the RINO’s aren’t going to stand and fight the Democrats on any issue, there really is no reason to put them in charge of the Senate. The result will be the same.
