Last summer I was polled and decided to try to answer the questions. I figured not many Conservatives answer polls so I gave it a whirl. It was mostly about gun rights. When the lady asked ‘do you have guns in the home’ I answered ‘you don’t really think I am going to answer that, do you?’ I bet a lot of people did though. It was an anti- Jeff Flake poll that I figure was being funded by Bloomberg and his Mayors.

On my last office visit to my doctor before I left California asked me if I had any guns in my home, when I asked why that was any of his business he told me he was just preparing for Obamacare requirements. He also told me that our visit should not exceed 15 minutes when Obamacare is implemented or they have to bill differently. This was last summer.

An answer which was automagically entered as ‘yes’.

Next time just lie.

"Are there any guns in your home?"

"Caulking guns, staple guns, grease guns, screw guns, hot glue guns...which ones are you interested in knowing about?"

many people are going to have an ethical problem with that approach.

Then don't lie. Just say "no guns". Let them interpret that any way they like.

Doc: “Do you have firearms?”

Me:”No. My arms are not on fire, but I have a hemorrhoid that is burning like an acetylene torch with the O2 on full.”

I'm still LMAO.

Doctor: So, WayneS, do you have any guns in your house?

WayneS: Let’s just say I have plenty of nunya.

Doctor: Nunya?

WayneS: Yeah, Nunya Fu@%ing business! And you’re no longer my doctor; and I’m NOT paying for this visit. Goodbye.

The first inclination any stranger will have that I own guns is when they see the fire coming out of the barrel.

My favorite deterrent:

I’m sorry Doc, you are not authorized to receive
that information, and I am not authorized to release
it to you...

If you continue with this line of questioning,
a 2nd Amendment representative may call on you
to examine your credentials and your motive.

Have a nice day.

Wonder if he’ll warn his patients about that highly dangerous and destructive practice of males having sex with males?

In my experience, the gun questions started around 20 years ago.

These people behave as predators, attempting to deceive or intimidate their victims into revealing security-compromising personal information. Phishing by physicians.

They answer to whoever is paying them and/or whatever entity (beast.gov) permits them to practice. “We have to ask...” is the default BS defensive response. Says who... the one who cuts the paycheck.

They are worse than the “average” thug, because like ravenous wolves dressed as law enforcement, teachers, or religious leaders, these so-called professionals abuse the public trust and manipulate, ensnare, and prey upon the innocent under the color of authority.

The firearms safety pretext doesn’t pass the smell test. They don’t need specific data on who owns guns in order to spew their “important safety tips”. After all, a patient (or other family member) may own no guns at the time of the appointment, but may make a purchase shortly thereafter, or at anytime between appointments. Why leave all those people out, if the real reason for the question is safety?

Well, the first time I had that question was 8 years ago. And I’ve been do a doc in the past 20 years. I live in the deep south though. I suspect it was introduced down here via CDC propaganda re: kids/guns in the 90’s post Columbine.

No ethical problem in lying to conniving, insincere people who ask unethical probing questions that they have no business asking in the first place. Righteous Gentiles lied when authorities asked them if they had Jews in their homes.

The medical professionals who ask these questions are abusing the trust that the general public places in their positions of expertise. They expect patients to answer them simply because they ask. Kind of like LEOS asking citizens to consent to warrantless searches. If you have nothing to hide, why get all indignant. Know your place, peasant.

Exactly so. Rather than common sense gun safetly, a la Eddie Eagle to younger ones (Stop! Don’t touch! Leave the area. Tell an adult.), we are supposed to fear those nasty guns.
