RT Anchor Quits On Air in Protest of Network’s Propaganda
Washington Free Beacon ^ | March 5, 2014 | Free Beacon Staff

Posted on 03/05/2014 9:09:52 PM PST by Red Steel

Liz Wahl, an anchor for Kremlin-funded propaganda network RT, announced her immediate resignation on the air Wednesday afternoon. She cited the network’s inability to objectively cover Russian president Vladimir Putin and the country’s armed occupation of Ukraine.

“Personally, I cannot be part of a network funded by the Russian government that whitewashes the actions of Putin,” she said. “I’m proud to be an American and believe in disseminating the truth. That is why, after this newscast, I’m resigning.”

Wahl’s grandparents came to the United States during the Hungarian Revolution to escape Soviet occupation, she told viewers, and she decided she couldn’t, in good conscience, continue to work for RT as it shilled for Putin. A day earlier, RT’s Breaking the Set anchor Abby Martin condemned the Russian invasion of Ukraine as well.

Gay reporter Jamie Kirchick was booted off the network in August for donning rainbow suspenders and protesting Russia’s anti-homosexual laws on the air, saying any reporters who chose to work for RT should be ashamed of themselves.

“Gay reporter Jamie Kirchick was booted off the network in August for donning rainbow suspenders and protesting Russia’s anti-homosexual laws on the air”

Why is that mentioned in the article? Let’s just randomly insert the gay agenda anywhere we can, shall we? They were right to fire this douche. The others sound like they took a good stand for their beliefs. Imagine anyone from... CNN doing that?... unlikely.

Why is that mentioned in the article?

It shows that RT's control of its reporters is not absolute.

That is the meta-message of the article.

This ain't your Stalin's Russia.

Wouldn’t it be cool to see a reporter here do that in the air because they were tired of shilling for Obama and whitewashing everything for him?

Doubt it would even be successfully broadcast without their mic being cut off.

“It shows that RT’s control of its reporters is not absolute. “

Your critical thinking skills are showing. That’s not always welcome these days.

Good for her.

Now she can get a job with an American news outlet - that whitewashes the actions of Obama.

"Why is that mentioned in the article?"

The gays have been a large part of the entertainment industry going back to ancient times.

“Wahl’s grandparents came to the United States during the Hungarian Revolution to escape Soviet occupation”

With that background, I think it’s unbelievable that she went to work for RT in the 1st place.

RT America presenter Liz Wahl announced she was stepping down, citing her disagreements with the network’s editorial policy. RT issued a statement following her resignation:

“When a journalist disagrees with the editorial position of his or her organization, the usual course of action is to address those grievances with the editor, and, if they cannot be resolved, to quit like a professional. But when someone makes a big public show of a personal decision, it is nothing more than a self-promotional stunt.”

If Liz Wahl had all those grievances, why bother working for a Russian based company in the first place?

Well you'll never broadcast the truth from any of our mainstream media.
