WINNIPEG -- A man who beheaded and then ate parts of a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus almost six years ago might soon be granted unescorted day trips outside his mental hospital.
Vince Li's psychiatrist says the one-time undiagnosed schizophrenic has not been violent, no longer suffers delusions and has made tremendous progress.
"From a clinical perspective, he has progressed excellently," Dr. Steven Kremer told a Criminal Code Review Board hearing Monday.

I still can’t figure out why they didn’t shoot him on the spot like rabid skunk. He is an animal and every breath of air he breaths is a waste of good air.
Cut him loose in the psychiatrist’s neighborhood. /s
Canada needs the death penalty.
Most definitely he needs freedom from his cell.
How about a nice warm swim in a So. Florida swamp. Let the alligators sort it out!
When released psychopaths go off their meds...

“I love these Doctors that are so willing to experiment on the general public with their science projects”
Well, a good compromise would be for the doctors have these people stay with their families for a few weeks before unleashing them on the public, as sort of a ‘trial run’. I wouldn’t expect the doctors to do this for free of course, so some allowance for room and board would be provided.
“Can you hear the rabbits, Clarice?”
Well after six years,I'm sure he MUST be hungry again by now!
95% of psychiatrists themselves are nuts - so don’t be surprised if they think a cannibal murderer is perfectly sane.
She obviously hates Asians. It's that racism, every time.
Mark
I think he should car pool with him...and let the guy ride behind the shrink.
Alaska fixed this a long time ago. Try to use the insanity defense and you’re locked up in a mental hospital until cured. Then you start your jail time. Now nobody tries to use the insanity defense any more. Now is that a miracle or what?!
Well Doc if you want him out I suggest you take him to your home.
LOL. Yes, interesting how that's worked out. It's actually logical, too. I guess some distance from the insanity in the lower 48 keeps the population's mental faculties acute.
More freedom? He should be dead. Can’t fix evil.
Obamacare, Canadian-style. Don’t you just love it?
I worked behavioral training with a guy who killed 3.. he had a severe pica disorder....liked to eat ...almost anything.bags of bolts, wood blocks, cans, toes, fingers, ears.my hat....he weighed 400+...was about 6’2”...and very fast when he wanted to be....I had to bring him 2am out to hospital once...his 1600mg of thora-daze wasnt working...for some reason..............out in public....I think he was a danger to anyone smaller than him....I dont think he hates people in general...............some of them just look tasty.....I worked w him for 4 yrs...That night in at jackson memorial in the middle of miami..I will not forget.
Sure ...the Dr. will try to show off the effectiveness of his wonderful treatment....and someone might suffer for it....and the Dr.might have to write a book about it...or at least a clinical study.....probly work some funding into the picture too....baseline a new med?......ect....
oh well
Dr. Kremer needs to be in PRISON just for THINKING this murdering cannibal should be out in the public.
I don’t wanna go on any day trips with him!!! I remember reading about this when it happened. It was horrific. The poor, young innocent man had on head phones and had his eyes closed when this thing did what he did. I think the innocent young man was travelling home from a summer job if I recall correctly. I should try to find a pic of him and post his name to honour him. If there was any justice in the Northern Americas, the beast that killed him would be long gone.
