WINNIPEG -- A man who beheaded and then ate parts of a fellow passenger on a Greyhound bus almost six years ago might soon be granted unescorted day trips outside his mental hospital.
Vince Li's psychiatrist says the one-time undiagnosed schizophrenic has not been violent, no longer suffers delusions and has made tremendous progress.
"From a clinical perspective, he has progressed excellently," Dr. Steven Kremer told a Criminal Code Review Board hearing Monday.

By the way, if anyone here has any of the paper copies of this magazine from 2007 I sure would like to borrow them if possible. I'm looking for an advertisement, not an article, so even thought much of the magazine is online, the advertisements aren't.
They’re going to let him have one free murder/cannibalization mental wig-out.
I love these Doctors that are so willing to experiment on the general public with their “science projects”.
Now that he’s supposedly well, execute him.

On the bus? Should we get him a bus pass? Do bus passes come in all-you-can-eat?
Yes
And Bill Clinton should have more Interns
Okay, so if this psychiatrist wants to send this guy out in public, I think the guy should start with weekend visits to the psychiatrist’s home.
The Dr should be required to be with him on these excursions.
Exactly! Maybe the psychiatrist should take the guy home to spend a weekend with him and his family.
Insanity should not be a way to avoid punishment anyway. I don’t care if someone is crazier than an outhouse rat. If he is capable of committing a crime, he should pay the price.
Maybe the relatives of his victims would like to take a little bus trip with him!?! A scenic tour of the remote parts of the province perhaps.
What does that mean exactly? He now wants more choice cuts? Progressed to thee might not mean the same thing as progressed to me.
In the words of Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you
That said, this Dr is out of his mind...Correct, they should move the whole psychiatric ward next door to him and his family.
Sorry to put his family in harms way, BUT he seems to have no problem putting society in harms way.
Few years ago some idiot tied up traffic for hours while ‘attempting’ to jump off the 95/495 bridge going between MD and VA. Naturally they had to disrupt traffic for hours.
He didn’t and ended up in a ‘home’ and a few years later his shrink asked to let him go back up to see what it was about etc...’They’ finally turned them down but did allow him to be escorted under the bridge.....
Who is worse, the patient or the (so called) curers?...

apparently he now qualifies to leave the grounds for lunch
If he is better now he should start his prison sentence.
