New Castle resident and business owner David Fitzsimmons used to pay $672 a month for health insurance for him and his family.
This year, with the implementation of the federal Affordable Care Act that has resulted in the countrys highest rates being charged in Garfield County, he faced a minimum premium of $942 a month.
The insurance rates, frankly, it just comes down to a decision for me and my family, whether we have a roof over our heads or whether we have health insurance. The obvious answer is that we have a roof over heads, he said Friday during a public input session on health care costs hosted by Garfield County commissioners.
...
Fitzsimmons said his solution has been to take half of what he used to spend for his family of four and put it into a wellness account for health care.
Thats our solution to Obamacare. They can come get me, Im not signing up. Its just not going to happen, he said.

If he voted rat, he got what he wanted.
If he voted pub.. the pubs forced it on him and I feel for him.
My cousin lives in Carbondale. She’s a not very informed, thinks Obamacare is just great and blames the “conservative county commissioners” for allowing this to happen. But health care costs have always been more expensive in the tonier parts of Garfield County.
Garfield county.
Doubtful he voted for any Dems.
Denver is the place you want to target.

There’s our problem. No matter how bad it gets, it will always be some Republican’s fault.
—same in rural Nevada—although the rural counties mostly vote against Harry Reid , it can’t overcome the fact that nearly everybody lives in Clark County-—
“Theres our problem. No matter how bad it gets, it will always be some Republicans fault.”
To back up what you posted, all we have to do is read how the trolls on FR blaming Republicans for Obama Care to Eve eating the apple.
This doesn’t surprise me. Obamacare for my wife and I (bronze) works out to $810/month - but that insurance doesn’t pay anything until we’ve spent $12,700.00 out of pocket.
It doesn’t make sense. So we don’t have insurance. We just pay for our healthcare.
Denver isn’t the only place. The Range bristled with Obama campaign signs, especially around the resorts. Counties get enormous federal funding and rely on tourism while being opposed to real production. The Range is populated with animal worshiping potheads, environmentalist commies who suck up debt/revenues, and there’s not much real production at all (outlawed by bipartisan NIMBYs).
Poor Colorado...too close to the Leftist cesspool of CA. Liberalism is a communicable mental disease. Now, having destroyed their state, they are infesting Texas, but we are doing our best to withstand their pernicious ideas by heaping ridicule on them at every opportunity.
Who are these people to complian? Don’t they know Sandra Fluck gets free birth control? Priorities people!
Yes, $942/month for nobamacare for a family of four is ridiculous. But I find it even more ridiculous that of the examples cited in the article, no one mentioned the deductible amount. $942 is bad. But if you have a $6000 deductible, that’s REALLY bad. In theory, you have to pay $6000 before you reap the “benefit” of paying the $942 monthly premium.
Talk about bend over!
