Huntsville is a nice area, I like it a lot.
This is what every gun and ammo makers in this country should do. Move their businesses to states that are friendly to the 2nd amendment. Let those other states, do without these companies, and see where they’ll be 5 years from now. I saw that Berretta moved their factory, and also those factories in Colorado, and the other anti-gun states. All of them have moved their businesses. Let’s all give them a cheer and an “ATTA BOY” for having the courage to do so.
It sounds like they are making plans to move out of gun and business unfriendly New York and go to where they are more welcome.
Good, we can get all the armories in the Free Zones of the new America.
With any luck at all the first line they’ll put in will be for .22 rimfire ammo——that is still the scarcest caliber and it’s popularity has grown a bunch in the past decade or so.
Look for less work to be done at the Remington plant in Ilion, New York after 2015. Also, expect the new plant in Huntsville to be more space-efficient and capable of producing more than what is produced in Prince Cuomo’s realm.
They are also expanding their ammunition plant in Lonoke, AR. My brother-in-law has worked there for 35 years.
They are running 24/7 and can’t keep up with demand.
I lived in Huntsville when Wallace was Governor. Fun times back then!
I fully agree. Why would you stay where you are hated, taxed to death, every road block that can be made thrown up in your way. Pull out every job, every dollar and let the state explain to them why those millions in tax and payroll dollars are gone. They can easily take the employees who want to go, go with them. The experience comes and can train the new workers also.
While I’m happy for Alabama, I wish some of these gun companies would move to New Mexico. Though technically a blue state now, we are a gun loving state, with some of the best gun laws in the country.
Good for Alabama. Sad to see they didn’t choose Virginia, but given the election of our idiot governor can’t say as I don’t understand. He’s more interested in gay marriage. Maybe he thinks the sex toy industry is going to relocate here?
Remington spokesman: Governor Cuomo said that we weren't welcome in his state and we've taken him at his word. Bye, bye, Andrew. We're out of NY state as fast as we can go.
Yep. When the Red State Rebellion breaks out, it is important that all of these facilities are in ....
OUR STATES!
:-)
Great. I wondered what company was coming here.
I have lived here since 1966 and would not want to live anywhere else.
Buy Remington!
I did!
I suspect it might be in an old Dunlop tire plant, closed a number of years ago after a prolonged strike. About half a mile from where I work.
Maybe I’ll get a “friendly neighbor” discount.
So is Remington buying an empty existing building, or building a new one. T’would be nice if they could take over an existing building, and put it to good use.
