Title:Climatologist: When Souped-Up Ocean Warming Ends, Global Temperatures Look Set To Rise Rapidly

The last decade was the hottest on record, and 2010 was the warmest year on record, continuing the long-term trend driven by human emissions (see above graph).
Still, in the past ten years, surface temperatures didn’t appear to warm as fast as many had expected — although the oceans kept warming rapidly, and Arctic sea ice melted faster than expected, as did the great ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica (see here).
Now new research finds that the slowdown in the rate of surface warming is because trade winds have sped up in an unprecedented fashion, mixing more heat deeper into the oceans, while bringing cooler water up to the surface. Remember, more than 90 percent of human induced planetary warming goes into the oceans, while only 2 percent goes into the atmosphere, so small changes in ocean uptake can have huge impact on surface temperatures.
Lead author Prof. Matthew England explained in a news release:
“Scientists have long suspected that extra ocean heat uptake has slowed the rise of global average temperatures, but the mechanism behind the hiatus remained unclear…. But the heat uptake is by no means permanent: when the trade wind strength returns to normal –- as it inevitably will –- our research suggests heat will quickly accumulate in the atmosphere. So global temperatures look set to rise rapidly out of the hiatus, returning to the levels projected within as little as a decade.”

Those selfless scientists at the Algore Glow Bull Warming Research Center and Massage Parlordeserve some sort of international award for their relentless research (in conjuring up the second most cockamamie theory of strong ocean winds as the cause of the drop in Global Warming Temperatures after Global Warming itself) deserve some sort of international recognition, another Oscar just won't do, for having uncovered the cause of the drop in Global Warming temperatures as that of strong ocean winds. .
The Obama Administration has already begun discussions to construct 40 foot ocean walls along the ocean's shorelines in an effort to slow down the ocean winds so that Global Warming can once again resume its normal, natural course on its path to overheating the Earth.
I wonder if any of the glowbull warming genesis’s ever think about that big ball of fire in the sky 93 million miles from earth having any effect on this planet’s weather?

I want to know what these new proposed 7 centers scattered across the USA in the name of climate control assistance are really going to be doing. Who is writing the rules? Who is deciding what authority they have? Where are they going to be? Are the government agents from this new bureaucracy going to be armed and under what authority?

The supposed effects of carbon dioxide in relation to “global warming” are miniscule at best, and are absolutely swamped when comparing the effects of water vapor to that of carbon dioxide.
The rather specious theory put forth, is that the presence of carbon dioxide somehow retains heat received from solar radiation. Well, spoiler alert. The ability of carbon dioxide to retain heat is almost exactly the same as that of water vapor, a much more abundant atmospheric gas, so if a culprit is to be indicted, it would be water vapor. After all, there is from 30 times to 200 times as much water vapor in the atmosphere at any given time, as there is carbon dioxide. Also, carbon dioxide is very much higher molecular weight than the predominant atmospheric gases (nitrogen and oxygen), and would not rise very high into the atmosphere. Water vapor, on the other hand, is only about half the molecular weight of the predominant components, and rises (literally) to stratospheric heights, forming the cirrus clouds, wispy trails of very tiny ice crystals. Carbon dioxide is just not a very big player in any mechanism of heat retention in the atmosphere.

I've modeled the problem myself. Since it's moving trees that make the wind blow, we should investigate what it is that keeps the trees from moving. That'd be the cause of Global Warming right there. Where's my grant money?
I’ve been pondering this myself within the last week, and not taking the time to calculate the molecular weight of Carbon Dioxide vs atmospheric gases, my general hypothesis nearly mirrored your own.
You do realize of course that at some point, you and I too become filthy CO2 emitters worthy of destruction so the planet will not die.

The author assumes the source of global warming is the sun, with CO2 trapping more heat in the atmosphere. But, the fact that the oceans are warmer suggests an unobserved increase in underwater volcanic activity, coinciding with the observed increase in land-based volcanic activity, may be at work. Volcanic activity is mostly thought to affect climate in the short-tun by spewing forth dust (which blocks the sun) and in the long-run by greenhouse gases (which trap the energy of the sun). The idea that volcanoes directly affect climate is mostly dismissed. But, as to why the Earth experiences variation in volcanic activity is, itself, an interesting question.
