John Boehner’s sunshine band: The leader of the liberal wing of Congress(John, they are proud of you)

From now on, it’s the Zip-a-dee-doo-dah House.

The political world stopped for a moment when Speaker John Boehner broke into the jaunty old Disney tune — “My, oh my, what a wonderful day” — after a news conference in which he threw in the towel on the debt ceiling fight. He found himself trapped between the immovable object of Democrats determined that they’d never again let Republicans take the nation’s credit hostage and the irresistible force of a dysfunctional, crisis-addicted GOP majority of which he is the putative leader. Boehner decided to skip away in song.

Feb. 11, 2014, was , in fact, a wonderful day. It marked the end of a dismal experiment that saw the right wing of the conservative movement do all it could to make the United States look like a country incapable of governing itself rationally. We were so caught up in our own nasty politics that we forgot that we’re supposed to be a model for how democracy should work. There will be other episodes of foolishness, but the debt-ceiling bomb finally has been defused.

Moreover, there were lessons here that should be applied from now on. The first is that refusing to negotiate over matters that should not be subject to negotiation is the sensible thing to do. President Obama learned this the hard way after the debilitating budget battle of 2011.

A strong leader -- one committed to conservative principles -- would be able to form a strong opposition party from this "fractiousness".

It is clear -- more now than ever -- that such leadership qualities and the virtues of commitment and honor -- do not exist in the current leaders.

John Boehner is incompetent and, perhaps, severely compromised. He should be replaced, immediately.

Why are we not screaming at the tops of our lungs for our Reps to do so?

What is the formal process?

Source is mis-identified. Should be Washington Post. Dionne in the Times would be shocking.

We were so caught up in our own nasty politics that we forgot that we’re supposed to be a model for how democracy should work.

Actually, we should be a model for how a republic works.

Most of the worlds' population is all too familiar with how democracy works.

That's why they turn their homes into rafts and risk their lives crawling through vast deserts and stowing away in wheel wells of airliners to get here.

We are facing an existential threat to our freedom and our way of life from a totalitarian-minded president, yet the Republican leadership in Congress is the weakest and most supine that I have ever seen. Bonehead and McCommie are even worse than Gerald Ford and Hugh (”the conservatives get the rhetoric, the liberals get the action”) Scott, the GOP leaders of the House and Senate, respectively, during the Nixon years.

E.J. Dionne Jr. — every time I hear him on TV he sounds like a crying teenager, full of liberal hogwash. He gets personal real fast when someone tries to make him stick to the topic.

Notice he didn’t write one thing about how this vote helps the country economically.

Like a spend-a-holic liberal, when he overspends, he wants a higher credit limit.

Obviously a Washington Post article, NOT WASHINGTON TIMES as the link suggests.

I just sent the following to my representative, Tom McClintock (among the strongest conservative members of the House):

Dear Mr. McClintock:

Respective of Mr. Boehner's long service to our country and his personal integrity, he has clearly become ineffective as leader of the Republican caucus in the House.

In light of the abuses of power in the Senate and the Executive Branch, the country needs a strong "opposition party" led by a strong leader. It is clear that Mr. Boehner is no longer up to that formidible challenge.

I request that you assume an even more active role to restore conservative principles in the caucus -- particularly in its leadership -- to defend the Constitution, and to do what you can to replace the Speaker with a House member with strong conservative values (such as yourself).

Respectfully,

Wonder what the NSA dug up on Boner, he had the same look on his face as Chief Justice Roberts, after he had just rewritten the PPACA so it could be shoved down everyone’s throat.

Very nice! We should ALL borrow this letter and send it to our “R” Reps in Congress. I’m going to do just that.

If and when they replace this embarrassment I hope we are subject to see him cry on TV again.

Send him back to Ohio where he can get a job at McDonald’s, but then again he has a trust problem so maybe that will not be such a done deal.

He also has a crying and singing problem.

That’s because old Hugh Scott had a patriotic attitude toward the country though his own liberalism, unknown to him, was undermining that patriotism.

The 5 year long, lopsided power struggle still continues on the now shredded Congressional Field of Battle in the District of Corruption, along the muddy banks of De Nile River.

The single simple goal of the much-praised Left Team, also called “Democrats,” as stated by their team captain B. Hussein Soetoro-Obama is to “Fundamentally change the United States of America.”

Even today, after five very long years of Obamanation, their hatred of the former United States of America can still be detected in the arrogant, and always deceitful, teleprompter speeches of their Top Leaders: President Jarrett; Gestapo General Holder and BoyToy Dictator Soetoro-Obama.

The multiple, and very complex goals of the Right Team, as yet unstated but consistently acted out by Special Wrongway RINO Defense Squad Co- Captains John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and Pete Roskam is to DO NOTHING that will irritate the Left Team.

The Right Team is also known by the name “Republicans,” a nostalgic name from a long-past time when there was “Liberty and Justice for all.”

The Left Team has a single Offense Squad with All Democrat Stars from many Schools of Higher Government Learning, to name just a few:
* Department of Gestapo Justice, (DOGJ);
* National Spy On U., (NSOU);
* Interrogate Ream Sue U., (IRSU)
* Reid Barrycade Senate Universal, (RBSU).

The Left Team always runs down the Congressional Field of Battle together, and has been admiringly nicknamed “ District of Corruption, United.”

The Right Team has NEVER allowed the younger, highly-skilled Constitutional Offense Squads onto the Congressional Field of Battle, due to well-timed and strongly worded objections from many RINO luminaries such as Loser Emeritus, “Wacko Birds” McCain.

After a recent weekend, group-hug, bonding session, many caucus meetings, and private deal-making, Lead Co-Captain John “Doormat” Boehner picked up the ball on February 11 th, and ran up the Congressional Field of Battle to score a goal for the Left Team.

Thanks to the quick RINO Defensive actions of “Wrongway” Boehner and his ‘gang of 27,’ an additional 1 to 4, (nobody is really sure), TRILLION taxpayer dollars will be added to the National Poverty Debt Game Clock.

Co-Captain “Wrongway” Boehner was assisted by 27 Members of the Special Wrongway RINO Defense Squad.

All of their team effort comments to the Left Stream Media were hopeful, but guarded.

The journalists with the Left Stream Media surprisingly did not ask if “Wrongway” Boehner would receive an engraved invitation for a gratitude lunch with Toy-Boy Dictator Soetoro-Obama.

Needless to say, “Wrongway” Boehner and his ‘gang of 27’ made no contact with any of the Left Team Members.

Most of the Left Team so-called “opponents,” (wink, wink), generally approved of the marginally satisfactory speed at which “their best friend across the aisle” ran to score the goal that “Most SENSIBLE Americans agree with.”

Time will tell if donations of time and money given to the Special Wrongway RINO Defense Squad, (SWRDS), will increase or decrease before the Championship Game in November, 2014.

Reporting live from the now snow covered, shredded Congressional Field of Battle, along the muddy banks of De Nile River is y’alls Free Republic reporter Graewoulf, signing off on this Global Cooling, Valentine’s Day Eve Day.
